i know, and now i can get to my point...how can you deny the existance of something that you cannot, or power, of something that you dont know how it works, or what is even there...

how can you [not you colours, but this is still slightly directed at Libertine] say that God cannot trancsed the Universe, when we do not know what else there is?

IF the universe is the WHOLE OF EXISTING THINGS...it is slighty impossible, my friend.

However, I know you Christians like the whole "you can't prove there's not a God" fallacy argument.

Which IS a logical fallacy called "argumentum ad ignorantiam" or argument from ignorance. It goes something like this : "Since you cannot prove that ghosts do not exist, they (probably) exist." Oh? Since I cannot disprove that an invisible, intangible dancing troll named Larry lives in my pancreas, there is the probability that he exists.

Lack of proof is not proof.

Atheism is NOT a "denial of god". It is a DISBELIEF in god. The BURDEN OF PROOF is on the claimant.

People turn to religion because it makes them feel secure about things that they know nothing about. I believe that no one here can prove that there is or is not a higher power that controls everything.

Libertine, you sir are awsome. You stumped these people and all they can say is "find god or burn in hell" or the one I personally like "You have to believe in god in order to understand him".

I personally am agnostic you should never put blind faith into something that has so many holes in its stories. Gods a hypocrite and no one cares. Buddha, Jesus, Gandhi were all trying to get their point of non violence across but no one seems to get it.

1.) I turned to God, not religion. 2.) True, I can't prove God's existence in a scientific sense. 3.) I don't think he stumped me, since I didn't respond in any of the ways you described. 4.) I do not have blind faith. I didn't stand up and run to the altar so that I could trade my brain for a silver cross to put around my neck.

    and I
    1) I turn to clowns for juggling
    2) I would have to be unemployed or not focusing on my job tasks during the day to truly participate on an intelligent/seriouse level to get into an in depth discussion so I turn to myself for the answers I may need in this -but its been mind riveting
    3) I turn to my paddle at home for the occasional spanking but thank you very mucho my explorer-of the geographical sense of course.
    p.s.
and of course I am thinking about magical penguins

Maybe there's something wrong with my computer but I didn't see any posts in this thread saying he was going to "burn in hell".

My belief in God doesn't come from anything I've read or anything anyone's ever told me. It comes from things I've seen, felt, experienced in my own life.

:D Problem is in order for me to tell you about it I'd have to tell you a lot of long boring stories and even then for all you know I could be pulling it all out of my ass.

    Libe you wrote

Ok I am on break so I will give my 10 more cents .. but only a fragment .. of yet another perspective ... but that is all it is ..
ok so I had 15 minutes .. so there will be mispells .. grammer issues ..

    You said

God of love" orders the killing of innocent people even after the Ten Commandments said “Thou shall not kill”.

This expert and your others are good examples of how MAN ...the majority of may may define who/what GOD is ..and its an example of how they might USE something they view as powerful to manipulate people/others to there beckoning ...this could be considered by some as a misrepresentation -slander and so you might ask "Where is this GOD to speak on behalf of himself or herself .. or is GOD a he or a she .. is GOD actually every fiber of our being ..and we are misusing/abusing it ...? All we can do is ...............? ........becuase we dont know exactly ....but lets view it scientifically as science is based on proven fact- no? Einstein yes quotes that he believed in GOD ..and convinced that he does not play dice ..subtle but not malicious , GOD does not care about our mathematical difficulties. He integrates ...he wanted to know GOD thoughts and not our ... as they were just details ...claims science without religion is lame ...religion without science is blind so with this mans creditbility you would think his quotes would be considered .. that is why we look and start with the atom .. if that is what we are made up of .... if you know this ..this you know it trickles down to many more complex ..."?"'s but you cannot truly ignore that there is SOMETHING greator than us the indivdual ..and whatever name it truly holds may be beyond us but yes man creates wonderful stories .. symbols ..and ways
Any fool can make things bigger.... more complex ..and more violent ....not saying that any of you are fools .. btw ...
