I would say: Don't buy a product if you can't recognized all of the ingredients. Oh, and the less ingredients the better.
You haven't had a hot dog until you buy one off the streets in München. =p and then it's impossible to stop at one, you'll need another one. And another one! And then €1 cheeseburgers are too good sounding and you'll get one of them and go to a bier hall and OMG you'll get more kranskys dogs... and schweinehaxe OMG. See all the excitement you're going to have when you get posted near me? =] going to turn you into one fat private, sir.
what an idiot. I'm one of the loudest mouths here when it comes to pointing out the stupid-assed conspiracy crap, and I believe that a gluten free diet is overall a better dietary choice for most people and an absolute necessity for others, so yes, it is wrong. I will add that while I think PR is a little out there with some of his political views, I trust his nutrition and health info as being pretty reliable and current. You seem to want to dismiss what PR says concerning diet based on his views about the NWO or some shit. Weak. After progressively worse digestive issues culminating in daily bouts of horrific cramping that would last 2-4 hours, I decided to try eliminating gluten as an attempt at relief. Within two days I felt completely different and now can't even fathom the degree of pain and discomfort that was my daily lot. Upon investigation it turns out I exhibit about 70% of the main symptoms of celiac disease. Haven't confirmed it yet, but I pretty much know. Damage is already done and now eating is a combination of pleasure and pain and I still endure daily "rough movements", but nowhere near what they used to be. I am no longer in general pain most days, I don't break out in the rashes, and in general I feel much better. Now that I have eliminated it from my diet, I am even more sensitive to it, as I found out one day and traced it to too much dairy. (dairy can elicit the same responses in celiac sufferer that gluten does.) It has forced me to much more conscientious about what I eat and I now prepare 90% of what we eat and virtually no fast food anymore. Anyone else out there sensitive, watch out for soy sauce, teriyaki, and any type of sauce or condiment that may use flour as a thickener (had to check five brands of mustard before we found one that didn't use wheat flour.) Told the wife the other day that between my back and my guts, I haven't enjoyed a pain-free day in over 20 years. guess I'm used to it now. good news is a gluten free diet is good for weight loss, I bought a new pair of jeans the other day, 36" waist, down from 38" and a big improvement over the 44" it was a couple years ago. I miss bread.......:bigcry:
A gluten-free diet can help people with schizophrenia as well. You should at least try it -- I am serious. Cultures that eat a naturally gluten-free diet have a much lower occurrence of schizophrenia. I mean, everyone I have talked to who has eliminated gluten from their diet notice a huge improvement in their mental health. Gluten isn't just bad for the gut, but the brain, too.
my illness is not why your approach deems you an idiot, it is that you are painting with the same brush that you accuse others of painting with; autism vaccinations for example. You cite a "mehh" web source as definitive "proof" supporting your assertion that a gluten free diet is simply a fad except for people like myself. Problem is many medical professionals also recognize that gluten can have adverse effects on other people as well, evidenced by some of the members posting here. But you have your one source and your personal conviction based on a lack of information rather than an abundance and when PR chimes in with actual, factual information, you dismiss him because of other topics not even related.
Im sorry if i consider my nutrition prof a more reliable source than a bunch of hipsters on a website You guys can keep believing any new age health fad you want. Ill stick with what my registered dietitian tells me. Ill take my pasta. You guys can keep your apple vinegar gluten free crap
Well fuck, with such an impressive professional as a Registered Dietician why in the world would I want to listen to any actual medical doctors who have studied this stuff for decades and I certainly shouldn't pay any attention to what other people say about their own personal real life experiences. Shit if your Registered Dietician says so, it must be truth! ps. could you get the website that they used to take the course and get registered, I have an extra $59.95 and a few hours, figure I may as well become a Registered Dietician too.
Uh. My dietitian has a masters in her field.... Youre probably thinking of the nutrition assistant program Anyway, a dietitian knows more about nutrition than a doc
A lot of the Far East countries have minimal amounts of gluten in their diets -- places like Thailand, Cambodia, etc. Also, here is a table from a 1966 study by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition which showed a decrease in the rate of schizophrenia during World War II when grain rations limiting gluten consumption occurred. There is a difference between people who simply went to college and got a degree, and people have have spent their lives studying and researching nutrition, who have actually authored best selling books on the subject. Some people go to school to simply get a degree in a particular field so they can make money, while some people have devoted their entire lives to an area of research they are truly passionate about. What your dietitian said doesn't mean shit, because I have read enough information put out by people who are likely more qualified than your dietitian to point out the health risks of gluten consumption.
lol Really? Even the dietitians I have heard recommend a "low fat" diet consisting of rice cakes? You are a fucking moron if you take the world of someone just because they hold a fucking title. Develop some critical thinking skills. There is no official consensus about what a healthy diet is, but if you do your own research and read enough information from varying sources, it's not hard to see what is. Most of the conventional health wisdom put out by spam websites like Yahoo!, which is often mindlessly regurgitated by doctors and the medical establishment, is long outdated information which has since made the public sicker than ever. If you think the food pyramid has any basis in reality in 2014, well, there isn't any point arguing with you because your mind is stuck inside a box.
You read a lot. Too much from fringe sources it seems because half the shit you say is complete nonsense. Youre just a typical health trendist Ive learned to ignore your crap long before this argument
