I've just had a look and there's supposed to be a live webcam somewhere on the site, but it's broken. Here's the link anyway, may as well put it up in case they fix it. Ooo Skip, does embedding youtube videos in posts work? I'd try here and now, but I've accidentally broken the forums before and don't want to do anything like that again
I am back took a lot of still photos and some short video clips of the who and john fogerty , really my worry was filming in the rain but I got some good stills mainly crowd scenes. I will upload them later anyway it was quite muddy ....I was one of the first people in on the wednessday and I got a great positiopn on the top of pennards hill and I taped it off and held people from camping on it till the others arrived . anyway they said it was too small and they had seen a better place to camp this turned out to be where people were flooded out in the lake of 2005 anyway a river gradually formed and we had to move tents . right Im going to start going through pictures
I'd love to go. I heard a good comment yesterday. There is no such think as the ''Glastonbury festival' - just your own personal one. This may seem trite - but judging by the size and scale it could well turn out to be just that. You could avoid the whole of the main stage the pyramid stage. You could just drift along the edges and enjoy the company of others with out listening to much music at all. That sounded like a more favourable festival than having to catch all the major acts that bar a few sounded shite anyway.
I had a great time It's a great festival, but it's what you make of it. There's so much going on that it's up to you to go and seek out the good stuff. Just watched an hour of "highlights" on BBC3 and to be honest they were just showing the really shitty crap that I went out of my way to avoid. Don't go to the main stages, don't tromp around with 50,000 people in the mud and watch a band half a mile away on a bloody big TV screen, have a look around the other hundreds of smaller stages and find something new, something brilliant you've never heard of before and didn't expect to find That's what Glastonbury is for me. Great to see young Matthews, Jonny, Kat, Sal, bokonon and others Coming back queueing for two hours soaked to the skin and shivering in the driving freezing rain shuffling through deep mud with a heavy backpack I couldn't put down waiting for a bus to the train station was like a form of torture. Started to feel like we were being shepherded towards waiting machine guns... But what doesn't kill you makes you stronger! After going through that I feel I could handle most things I'm likely to face and not complain.
I've tested embedding video links into posts like this, and of course it doesn't work. I do have a video module I've been trying to integrate with the new group system, but it's not working yet, and may not be feasible. That would mean I'd need to create a whole new video module from scratch. That takes a lot of time, but we will have one sooner or later, as I see it being very important. If I can get one working with the groups, you'd be able to link video clips from Glastonbury and other places in the group pages. But you'd still have to post the videos on another video website. And you still wouldn't see video clips in forum postings like this, or in the Hip Gallery, unless I work on that separately. Capisce?
