I know what you mean. But I bet you £1000 that there was just as much racism in the 70s as there was in the 20s...and just as much love in the 20s as there was in the 70s.
Just some people have decided history has to be slightly linear.
Because obviously black people had no rights prior to MLK.

compared to todays movies,ya its bad but back when it came out it was good.i bought 1 and 2 a while ago and watched it for a while.my 10 year old son loved them

 

It's been put in the category of "classic"...I think that is a bit much.
I didn't say it was god awful just wondered why it was loved so much. It isn't THAT good.
