When I "lack" motivation, I think its generally because I'm tired or my mind is full, and processing stuff. I might get some fresh air/exercise that moment. Maybe a day off (I'll check my diary/journal) Sometimes, I'll list any potential "blocks" I might have at the time, and anything that could boost my mindset against those blocks. I think, if we understand our own psychology we can deal with it better. Keeping a journal and wallchart helped me notice how often I get tired, physically or mentally. Planning stuff and dividing it into smaller chunks makes it easier. Nowadays I realise I can't do everything in one day.
Being unmotivated can be OK sometimes. Everyone needs some time just to lol about. Some of those 'get motivated' people out there really get on my nerves. They'll tell you you can do anything, get busy, make a million, climb Everest etc etc, but do nothing themselves except maybe prey on people's guilt over lack of motivation.
Lol.. I finished my assignment!! I put too much pressure on myself.. I got 86% in my first assignment for the same unit...
I think about the biggest lazy loser I know (who could achieve stuff, yet doesn't). Ask myself do I want to be like this person. The answer is usually hell no. So I get up and do stuff.
Well, now that you have the deadline far away again (I hope ) the best advice is to start any day now. This is really obvious I know but sometimes it helps saying the obvious because if you do something of it every day you can finish it both in high quality (the urge to do this is what's causing pressure most likely after all) and without any stress :2thumbsup:
I got stuff done this weekend...not as much as i wanted but its not like it normally is. Facebook...hipforums...baseball game...video games...too drunk to do anything...repeat on sunday. maybe i will even do something during the week.....that made me laugh a bit thinking about it.
Because of lacking motivation? There's a saying "the less you do the less you want to do" or something along those lines. I find them to be very true. Get started early on in the day (is it not early on in the day for you now? - Being 3PM here in Aussie it's most likely very late in the night.. ). Start tomorrow. Perhaps it will be like a snowball effect. As for moi.. It's not so much a lack of motivation anymore as it is lack of understanding and/or care about the topics... These novels suck. These movies suck. I don't like postmodernism or postcolonialism or ... etc
yea like ill tell myself that when i wake up ill get right on this shit and do it but when the time rolls around to do the stuff im like naahhhhhhhh its hard to get into stuff that doesnt interest you. this is for school?
