German Court Rules Circumcision Illegal

It is better in some case that kids do not take decision but I think every one should be free to take their own decision.

 

It's not really the norm worldwide, just in your country.

 

Natural selection wouldn't have had humans develop a foreskin in the first place if it was detrimental to our health.

We're the only organisms on Earth who have them. There has to be a good reason for that.

 

We as in humans or we as in mammals? The males of most mammals have a foreskin. Even so, that most mammals have them strengthens your overall argument. So, win/win.

 

Actually, most mammals have a sheath which their penis withdraws into when not in use.

Humans are the only ones who keep their penis outside of their body when it's not in use, and also the only ones with a foreskin.

allows the child to make the decision as an adult... yeah.. how many adults do you think are gonna go.. "guess it's time to chop my dick into pieces" fuck that.. i'd rather have it done when i don't know it's happening..

Also I've known folks that have had to have surgery from an uncircumcised penis because the skin would get too tight around his penis when he was hard and would cause serious pain..

 

Do the doctors actually get paid for performing the circumcisions? Or do they only take tips?

 

There are other factors, when I was in middle school a guy an girl went into the woods to get busy. The girl came back with the most astonished look and was running, guy came back with a crotch full of blood because his parents didn't teach him how to pull the foreskin back and clean it. His skin had adhered together and when he got aroused it tore. Not all parents actually teach their kids about hygiene. For most women especially, it's easier to get their boys cut. I can say all my boys are circumcised, and I am proud I did it.

I also know someones son who hadn't got the procedure as a baby, but at 16. It was horrifying for him, but he wanted it done. He wished his mom did it as a baby.

Everyone has their own opinion, but for a country to make it illegal is wrong. That's taking their option to do so away.

Good for surrounding countries doctors, more baby penis cutting for them.

 

Says the 57 year old. Sorry dude you are out of touch, i wouldn't put your word against mine when i have heard countless cut vs uncut arguments and women always go for cut. It is probably only in America but like i said, i have seen it countless of times, dudes making fun of other dudes for not being cut. Even on the internet, countless of kids asking "How do i clean my penis" and kids who always complain about their dicks because their surge of hormones have them watching porn and comparing themselves to it.

Really Circ's are a North American thing. Most ppl here in Aus don't do it and I know many in the EU are the same.

I personally prefer mine uncut as well btw.

I don't see how as a mother how I have the right to do that to my child. It hurts babies I've heard them scream!! I couldn't hurts my boys like that.

 

Social norm in your tiny little segment of the population perhaps....where I am, its certainly not a social norm to systematically mutilate a part of a childs body. (I'm glad to say)

Seems to me you're generalising your own very limited experience to other people and places. I think you're the one who's out of touch, and when you're older and have travelled a bit you'll probably realise it.

 

Hold on a minute, if a parent doesn't show a kid how to wash then they're just as bad. I don't think you should be too proud if you decide you're going to be lazy. "Well I was never going to help my son with his homework anyway, so I put him in boarding school and i'm proud..."

Yet you forget my little section of experiences can also include the internet. Large social websites like reddit (100k visits a day) lean towards cut. And as i said i'm talking aboutAmerica, so UK yeah no i'm not saying (hur im right whole world is my viewpoint) We are talking about 2012 correct? but yeah i am generalizing a bit seeing as a majority of all teenagers are the same. Sure we are on a neo hippie site but for the most part the majority of teenagers are all alike i.e see Facebook. Protip: In a national survey conducted from 1999-2002 found the overall percentage of males circumsized in the US was 79%.

This is all based on opinion, so there's no way anyone will have a 'right' answer. However, if left to the pros who know how to do an actual study: "Estimates by the World Health Organization (WHO) suggest that 30 percent of males worldwide are circumcised. The prevalence of circumcision varies mostly with religious affiliation, and sometimes culture."
