The Spartans were gay by decree! It was assumed that if you loved your fellow soldier/friend, you would fight harder to protect them. Thus making you a more ferocious opponent to your enemy! Spartans were not allowed the company of women! This is dredged up from a very dark corner of my memory. Something I saw on a TV documentary some years ago.

 

Well my new found friends... I have just recently "Come Out" as a gay man. At the age of 55yrs. having spent my life hiding my true self from family and friends, I'm not in the mood for being "Cured"!
If it were compulsory, on pain of death, that all gay people had to be "cured"... I'd choose death! There is much too much to look forward to, to lose it all now!
