havnt played a final fantasy since 8, i have said i would go back and play some of the new ones but honestly i cant see how i will ever have the time after resident evil 6, bioshock infinite, grand theft auto 5, and maybe tomb raider if i have enough free time.
I can add Final Fantasy XIII to the list of games I hate that everyone else seems to love. It's honestly one of the worst games I've ever played. The combat system sucks, there's no world map, only long, narrow corridors and you have to read through a few hundred pages of datalogs to get the basic idea behind the story, because the cutscenes and dialogue don't bother to give you that information. I can't even say the characters are unlikable, because for the life of me, I can't even bring myself to care about them enough to hate them. I've been playing it for the past few days, mostly looking at it in awe of how horrendous it is. It's like a train wreck. I can't look away. Thankfully it only cost me $10.
- Infamous - Most Silent Hills - Red Dead Redemption - Dragons Souls - Skyrim - Saints Row - Grand Theft Auto - Just Cause (1 & 2) - Hitman - Lollipop Chainsaw (oh gawd!) ~ Flowermama
they were cool at the time, just didn't age well. although i don't know that they were terribly popular.
- Halo series (generic and boring) - Alan Wake (Extremely boring and dumb gameplay) - Call of Duty except the first one (on-rail, short, boring, scripts-only)
I absolutely LOVED playing Oblivion. I didn't like Skyrim at first, but Elder Scrolls games always seemed to have a strange artform with their graphics. The first time looking at the character models in Morrowind and Oblivion I was like "wtf is this ****??" CALL OF DUTY AND MINECRAFT. I despise these games... I refer to people that play them as "Todds". Mass produced human beings similar to jocks in high school. Oddly enough though, as much as I don't really care for first-person shooters (especially frantic online 1-hit kills... *shudders* ugh.) I've been really getting into Battlefield 4. Of course, my brother and ALL my friends who play Call of Duty ridicule me and call me a hypocrite now, but BF4 is a lot more realistic, you get to drive around in vehicles and tanks and stuff, and matches are more lengthy and are mostly capture the flag style rounds.
i pretty much hate everything that involves having to run around with some kind of weapon and try to kill almost everything. i don't even know, most of the video games people seem to love, so i can't really say that i hate them, beyond the general broad outline of their concept. building things and exploring places are what interest me. the least negative thing i can say about anything else, is "meh".
It's obviously Dying Light and Shadow of Mordor ) Stupid 1-2 button combat system. quest's are boring, graphics looks good but game is not about graphics and how good it look's, idk how it's for u, but i love when game have rly strong interesting storyline, game where u can almost live ) World u can believe in ) these 2 games cant give me that feeling )
I really dislike a lot of first person shooters, games like COD and Halo don't appeal to me. I also dislike a lot of open world games such as GTA, Infamous, or Saints Row. With that being said it's funny that one of my favorite games of last year was Far Cry 4, which is a combination of both types of games.
Saints Row gets a lot of love and that game doesn't appeal to me at all neither! Can't say I hate it because I never took the effort of playing it. But i think I would dislike it thoroughly. It's just does not focus upon what I myself like in a game. So it's all good :daisy: :daisy: edit: games like Angry birds are a good example as well! I used to play some of those games and enjoy such games as a kid but I don't feel like wasting time on any kind of such games anymore for a long time now. Same with the farming game on facebook or a game like Tetris. So pointless and boring. I don't like games like Pacman anymore either.
World of Warcraft, or rather, Everquest and all of its clones. I played EQ until I was lvl 30 or so. That's how long it took me to realize I was just doing the same thing over and over. Doing the same thing over and over is often what games are all about, but it just wasn't fun, it never ended. An infinite grind, the more time you put into it, the more time it demands of you. Kill monster to level up, kill strong monster to get better item, repeat. That's basically the recipe. People will pretty much always argue that the PvP is the fun of these games .. If so, why do I need to either dump 500 hours into a character or pay (!) for a character that is level 100 or whatever the max is. I feel the hate on Skyrim is completely unjustified, though. Morrowind was better, obviously, but Skyrim kicks Oblivion's ass. Oblivion was bad. A pretty world, but overall a crappy game. Skyrim was Oblivion done right, IMO. If you don't like the feel of playing Skyrim, then I guess it's just not for you. But if you throw in some mods it becomes a different experience. This is usually true for any TES game, but I like survival and realism and added a bunch of mods like that on Skyrim, and I haven't been that immersed in a single player game in a long time.. Caught in a blizzard, having to take shelter in a cave, desperately seeking a source of warmth in said cave before I freeze to death.. drink some ale to stave it off, kill a couple of monsters and finally find a torch to heat up on.
Nothing has made me feel older than hearing the words..."I used to play angry birds when I was a kid." Funny enough I was going to say candy crush. I was on level 200 or something like that but I hated playing it. I never liked any match 3 games like bejewled. It is one of those unexplainable phenomenons that I put any time into it...nevermind the dozens of hours I did.
