They don't bother me in the slightest. It's simply a form of self expression and by shunning them you are denying yourself the opportunity of knowing them as the person they really are inside, someone that could potentially be one of the greatest people you've ever met.

I say, more power to them.

I agree 100%. Just because they dress differently and maybe act a little different, doesn't mean they are bad people. I've known plenty of people who dress in all black and are some of the nicest people I know...then I've known a lot of people who dress "normal" or, how steve says, "normaler", who are some of the cruelest, coldest people I've ever met.

It's what's inside that counts...and if you never take the time to know them, then you don't know what you might be missing out on. Stereotypes suck...and it's kids in high school that are so stuck in MTV world...that love to perscribe to stereotypes. I feel sorry for people like htat.

    She's in love with herself.
    She likes the dark.
    On her milk white neck.
    The Devil's mark.
    It's all Hallows Eve.
    The moon is full.
    Will she trick or treat.
    I bet she will.

She's got a date at midnight.
    With Nosferatu.
    Oh baby, Lilly Munster.
    Ain't got nothing on you.
Well when I called her evil.
    She just laughed.
And cast that spell on me.
    Boo Bitch Craft.

Yeah you wanna go out 'cause it's raining and blowing.
You can't go out 'cause your roots are showing.
    Dye em black.
    Black no. 1

    Little wolf skin boots.
    And clove cigarettes.
    An erotic funeral.
    For witch she's dressed.
    Her perfume smells like.
    Burning leaves.
    Everyday is Halloween.

Loving you was like loving the dead.

Its more about the dark asthedic than being depressed. Once agian, the people that pretend are posers trying to rebel and stuff and say "whoe is me", who are in no way goth because they don't listen to the music.

I hate normal people. They dress in their normal clothes, make their normal rules, and single out everyone that isn't like them. They cause the people that look different to do things in order to be accepted like thay are and get mad when you call them on it.

Oh, ihmurria, that picture you posted was absolutely gorgeous. The whole Gothy look is so sexy. On guys and girls...mmmm.

When I was in high school, I dressed in all black, loved spiked collars, wore a long (beautiful) trench coat. I guess that makes me a bad person.

And yeah, it's people like us (well...I'm not really into that "style" anymore...) who shoot up schools, but it's people with attitudes like yours, Steve, that push "us" to it. The Hot Topic add-water, insta-"goths" are the ones I'm not particularly fond of, but that's because most of them seem to hold themselves to abide by the drama-queen, barking at everyone, hating the world stereotypes. I dressed the way I did because I liked it, just as I dress the way I do now for the same reason. If you don't give them a chance, you will never know what wonderful personalities may be underneath the white powder and black lipstick. And it will be no one's fault but your own. You could be missing out on some of the greatest friendships possible.

personal taste is personal taste. what is wrong. very very wrong. is people dictatorialy imposing gratuitous conventionality one each other. a gratuitous conventionality that is itself harmful and destructive.

there are no normal people, only people who accept and glory in their uniqueness, and those who lie to themselves and try to deny it.

Who the hell does that Steve think he is. Who is he to judge what is normal and what isn't? I'm not a goth, but I like the style. They show themselves to be individuals, not sheep who must wear the latest trainers, the right type of jeans, or have a "normal" haircut.
Underneath all the make up, the trench coats, the platform boots, and the big hair they are the best people in the world (next to hippies).

'DRIVE you to it'? oh please! I like you I've seen a few of your posts around, so don't take this personally, but thats just ridiculous. The people that do high school shottings are just plain fucked up, just like anyone who commits mass murder. They are not the only ones who get hassled in school, didn't we all? I didnt take guns to school and slaughter people just because I got made fun of sometimes. These are people with serious mental problems whose actions are entirely their own, and no one else is to blame for them picking up a weapon and taking it to school to kill innocent people.
Personally, I'm sure many Goth people are very nice, but they seem to also be real attention seekers for the most part. All the ones I know, not only dress the way they do for attentionm, they also talk really loudly and bounce around etc, to get attention. But thats cool if they want to do that.
