Gas here is now at around $3.50+ per gallon for regular. Yet the oil companies are making record profits. We do need to teach the big oil companies a major lesson. Send a message that we will not sit idly by while they gouge us. If you can, don’t buy gas! Use public transportation when ever possible. If you must by gas then boycott Mobil, Exxon and Hess stations. Buy only Gulf and Sunnoco. We can force better prices but, we must be dedicated and deal with some short term inconvenience but the pay off will be worth it. The oil companies will continue to raise prices as long as we continue to pay.
Dunno about boycotting it, but teh gas was $2.999/gallon here in Mobile AL when I filled up yesterday... It was $2.45-47ish before teh hurricane. That's fucking straight up price gouging. :$ But of course it's only illegal for everyone except Bush's buddies.
wow, you are such a fucking ignorant hipocrite, you know all that suffering in new orleans? it's happening because there is a state of anarchy there anarchy boy the fact that many nations would have almost no exports without oil and that driving supports their economies and when it gets to pricey they are screwed, well that is kinda relevant too frankly some people have to drive, there are some people who the price of gas affects their whole livlihood, long haul drivers for instance, if the price of gas goes to high and their contractor isn't willing to pay for it they are out of a job so either think about cause and affect relationships or shut the fuck up, bleed me a river, build a bridge and get the fuck over yourself
funny how you are using a computer but you don't care about others financhial security so what happens when you have no money? selfish stupid prick
R.O.L.F.. This photo is so fucking funny man, You definetly want to lay of the beans. Love peace and grease Trog
No, not selfish, but short sighted. Oil prices do not only effect “peoples modes of transportation”. Ultimately we will see high prices on necessities. The cost of everything from food, housing, clothing and of course heat will go up. But that is nothing to worry about not with winter right around the corner! The high oil prices will hit the people who can least afford it. The elderly, disabled, children and of course the poor. There is a lot more to “the big picture” then you realize.
I work in a gas station (it's up to 3.10-3.59 a gal here) and I love it when some idiot walks into the station to complain about the prices. I like telling people "Hey, don't look at me dude I don't even drive. And I doubt the oil companys care how much you whine about the prices as long as you keep bending over and taking it, which it looks like you are".
i cant drive yet but still gas here is like 3 something like 3.25 maybe.but anyway we were talking about this in school and my one teacher told us that theres enough oil in alaska to last us for like ever well maybe not that long but theres enough to last us.but we cant get it because of the reindeer, there almost all gone and they wouldnt like all the pipe lines up there so we cant.and because our oil refineries dont refine U.S. oil,and our goverment doesnt want to spend that little bit of money to make them so they can.thats y im starting a adopt a reindeer fundation.not really.
1. semi tractor trailers probably bring you your food from california or the midwest 2. many people depend upon the price of gas to have enough money to aquire food and shelter 3. you are selfish if you don't think that those peoples livlihoods is relevant, not just long haul drivers, but pizza delivery people, newspaper carriers, most couriers and many other classes of job DEPEND directly upon gasoline and it's price, many of these people need these jobs to aquire food you are a selfish child who cannot think beyond their own life, own temporal desires and foolish delusions of what anarchy would be like, people in new orleans raped, killed and looted because they percieved no authority, if anarchy occurs that will occur the fact that you are deluded and think that you aren't stupid is laughable
i would say boycott gas and gas powered vehicles...if my future career (auto repair and diagnostics) didnt depend on them yeah gas is expensive...deal with it. Hydrogen cell cars wont be practical for another 50 or more years, believe me i would know. Not to sound harsh or anything, but this is the way things are, you just have to adjust and continue on with your life.
too true, although I'm glad for that fact more often than not. In answer to your question, nah. for some reason I get laid more often when I'm unemployed. go figure.
....................peace brother ..........man we should all ride on wind instead of driving on gas .
First Im not sure that is true. Even Bush said that drilling in Alaska would not eliminate our dependence on forgien oil. I think your teacher should go to school and learn something. Protecting our wildlife and wilderness is something that is critical to our future. Just as critical as cheap oil and gas. Believe it or not, and I know this sounds stupid, but very little of the oil from Alaska makes its way into the US market. It is sold to other countries. What will reduce our dependence on forgien oil is raising fuel efficiency standards on automobiles. If we raise these standards we could become completely free of forigen oil in as little as 5 years. Another thing that pisses me off are these people who buy SUVS, big pickup trucks, and (HUMMERS of all things). I am not talking about people who have to by some big old gas hog because that is all they can afford. But people who buy these shinny new gas hogs and clearly have the means to buy something else just get under my skin.
As far as driving goes i've said fuck it im going to ride my bike everywhere. which has been working very well. I don't even know what im going to do when winter hits...
3.79 liters = 1 gallon @ 1.00 GBP United Kingdom Pounds =1.83606 USD United States Dollars and the bbc reported on the 5th that petrol prices were probably going to be about 1 GBP per liter. and the us prices are around $3.50/gal. i dunno. i'm brain fried right now. who's good with math? i know i never was. lol. it doesn't change the fact that people living hand to mouth don't have the funds budgeted for such a rapid increase in gas prices.
No doubt that the hurricane caused an increase in gas prices but remember that gas prices were already very high before that. I my opinion artificially high! So long as we pay, the big oil companies will continue clobber us! So we need to send them a clear message that we will not take it anymore.
