I know plenty of people, including myself, who if they heard something banging in their garage would shoot. Why? Because its late, you just woke up, and you don't know wether or not this intruder is armed. I value my life above some lowlifes.
Sorry dude, you messed up. I understand. It happens to the best of us, especially when you're 16. Good luck with juvie court. Peace & love
No, actually. Most teenagers don't get in trouble with the police for shit like that, they get in trouble with the police for drinking alcohol or smoking weed. These for the most part are crimes that don't hurt other people (other then drunken verbal and physical fights, but then it's no longer just alcohol, it's assault) My point is, he broke into peoples houses in order to steal from them. He's not committing a tiny little meaningless crime. It may not be a big deal to steal a couple beers, but that kind of behavior should not be tolerated at all. You shouldn't have to steal just to drink, get a fucking job, do something productive.
wow, fuckin insane dude...guy got caught right? Yea I guess if I had a garage and would be doing projects in there I'd wanna have shitloads of beer too lol...
If this was an isolated incident and he doesn't have a history of doing stupid shit like this, I don't think he deserves to goto juevy for even a year. A month or two would suffice in my opinion. I called him a burden on society, I'm not a cop. Tell me, how is he not a burden on society? Society only works because of laws and rules, although some of them unjust (such as pot being criminalized.) This isn't one of those meaningless laws, they are there for a reason. It may not be a big deal that he stole a few beers, it's the fact that he's a thief. He is not a productive member of society. A burden on society is someone who hurts the entire system. He most likely doesn't have a job since he has to steal to drink. He is taking something from someone who put the money back into businesses, he is not helping anything, only harming. His individual case is not a big deal, but the point of it is DON'T FUCKING STEAL. He's probably going to end up with probation or house arrest or something small, no big deal. I could understand if he was stealing food from some guys garage because he's got nothing to eat for whatever reasons, that's a neccesity. He was stealing a drug to get drunk from someone who worked hard and deserved it. He deserves whatever punishment he gets, as well as any flaming in this thread. I'm shocked anyone is sticking up for him.
Do you even know what burden means? Do you even pay taxes? I hardly think ONE charge in a state that is probably not yours is really putting a noticeable "burden" on anyone. Pfft that title should be reserved for career criminal sociopaths. First you say he's a burden then you say this one isolated incident isn't a big deal, so which one is it?
They dont have these problems in europe where 16 year olds can buy alcohol. I think a month or two locked up for stealing beer is fucked personally. Its cruel for what was done, the crime wasnt violent or malicious, would not do anything to that persons livelihood, etc. I guess I am just more into education and tolerance to prevent crimes from happening *shrug*
All the people having a go at him, give it a fucking break... I have stole before. Do I regreat it? No... I don't believe in regret much stuff. It's just some things that you do when your a kid, everyone really has done it, it's a bit of beer, you get a tellin off, if its with the police, a caution or whatever. If you do it for a living, or if you are over 18... or if its large quantities... different. Just being a teenager and doing things without thinking twice happens... and you get punished. Kinda how you learn. I think no less of anyone just cos they have stolen something at a young age. Stop making it such a big crime...
Yes, I do know what burden means. I pay very little in taxes right now because I'm under 18. One isolated incident isn't that big of a deal, but it's the fact that stealing should be looked down upon as such. If more people thought the way you, and jimi420 did, then there would be a large burden on society. The one incident concerning him is not a big deal, and obviously, it didn't hurt that particular guy too much. The point is that people shouldn't steal. The more people that steal, the larger the problem is. Not that many people break into houses and steal shit because of the potential consquences and moreso the fact that it is WRONG. If you look at it as it's no big deal because it was just a few beers, what's that saying to everyone else who's short on cash and wants to drink. Or how about if they need some CDs and don't got the money? Where do you draw the line...
It's not the fact that one charge is going to put a noticeable burden. But if we let this guy get off with a slap on the wrist, we have to let every equivalent theif off with a slap on the wrist. If we let them all off, people would steal more often, that is where the burden is.
Uhh that is why aggravated crimes have tougher sentencing? lol this thread is getting way off topic, i'm out.
lol this is some funny shit.... Yeah dude, u stole somthing and u got caught. It happens and u knew when u where house hopping that u could get busted. Just b more careful next time or get a buddy 2 boost
Yeah, that's how it is here... Mexicans always steal crab pots and vegetables aroudn here and people always shoot at them.
Cut the kid some slack, he knows he did something wrong. He's owninig up to it, he had enough balls to announce to the whole world that he stole. I don't know him personally, but I bet you he's sorry, I'm sure he learned his mistake, can't you just give him some help. I know I would if I could but I've never been in trouble with the law, I've had a close call but I never have been convicted of anything. Eveyone makes mistakes, he's young, just let it go. Jimi, I would help you if I could. Don't let these people piss you off. I'm sure you won't do it again.
