Well, for that matter, fuck the Iraqi war too! There are obviously many things the government wastes the taxpayers money on...but this specific thread is about welfare.

Forgive me, I should have been more specific. Don't get me wrong, I'm NOT talking about people who REALLY need it (single mom's that work 2 or 3 jobs and still can't afford to pay the rent, someone lost a job, etc...) I'm talking about the 16-17-18 or however old girls that don't know how to carry around condoms, have 4 kids by the time they're 20, are living with thier mother and living off the government.

i work my husband works but we get paid garbage and crappy hours.. i dont get finacil assistantce but we do get medical and food stamps.. because all our work money goes to is rent and bills, after that we have no food... i hate being on welfare and hopefully soon i can say goodbye to that help...

im grateful for the help otherwise we would starve.

And by no means am I a "spoiled little rich girl".
My parents have never given me anything other than food, a roof over my head, and an occasional cd, them barely having money for themselves.
I've been working since I was 14, making my OWN money, buying my OWN concert tickets, etc.
I worked hard in school and beyond to be able to get the job I have now and support all the non-working lazy asses out there.

i think its a myth that most people on welfare are lazy......this seems a complete turnaround from what you just stated above, that you only meant the people who abuse it, not the people who really need it.....most people really need it, you'd better hope you don't ever, because you might.....sounds like your family doesn't have the resources to help you if something happens.

in my opinion,welfare is for those who need help.one day sooner or later the welfare receipient has to pay that money back.if that person on welfare one day gets a job and the following year files their taxes,that welfare money comes out of their income tax.i also once upon a time heard a story of someone actually getting their pay checks garnished until the "debt to society"was paid.its a vicious cycle.....i agree,unfortunately,lazy people do exist and take advantage of the loop holes in the system thats provided for people and familys that genually need it.

AGREED, the US has some of the lowesttax rates in the world, and we get little from what we do pay....not only do we have health care problems, but now fuckers want to do away with ANY assistance to those in need.

and again, a little clarification...the lazy asses arent the mothers that had to leave thier husbands and have no where else to turn...or the mother that are working 3 jobs and can't feed her family...
