like the Olympics really matter about anything. except for people breaking world records, i don't see a point. IMO, it's just a race to see who's country is better.

 

they should have spent the money on improving the life of their people. these governments are something else. they exists for the few to steal from the many.

The point is to take a break from all the bullshit that goes on in the world. The Olympics is supposed to be the one time when everyone focuses on the things that unite humanity rather than the things that divide us.

Did anyone see Stephen Colbert talking about the Olympics the other day? "So far in Beijing, the Chinese have dominated gymnastics, the Jamaicans have dominated track and field, and the Russians have dominated invading a sovereign nation." Probably one of the funniest things I've ever heard him say.

 

sooo uniting humanity means to battle each other in various sports?

i honestly don't think anyone with a life takes a "break from the real world" to watch the Olympics. other than the fact it's interesting to watch and there's nothing else on tv. but that's just my opinion.

 

i just think all sports in general are boring as shit, unless ur partcipating or watchin it live where it is hapenning
