Psy, I'm not going to get too involved in this debate because you have a tendency to make things up as you go along, which makes it a waste of time.

For example, "There is a shortage of jobs". The US has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the world (nearly half of the rate in France which had a wonderful general strike), and looking at US history the current unemployment rate is not only trending downwards over recent months, it is lower than the average for each of the last three decades. So when you say there is a shortage of jobs you are talking based on no understanding of economic reality.

And Wal Mart's average sales clerk wage is about 65% above the minimum wage. If Wal Mart is a merciless corporation with absolute power over workers trembling with fear of losing their jobs, why does it pay so far over the minimum wage? If Wal Mart workers can't quit their jobs because they wouldn't be able to pay their bills, why does the company have a staff turnover ratio of 44% per year?

If Wal Mart is a law unto itself, then why, at any moment, does it face about 8,000 lawsuits?
This company is hardly able to act with impunity, it is under a massive spotlight.

Unless the unemployment rate is zero there is by definition a shortage of jobs.
We are talking about WalMarts using its power over to bust unions, paying a bit extra is an old trick, give them a bit more so they won't unionize and demand more then 65% over minimum wage.

I'm talking in general, when a unionized walmart closes, not every worker will find new work.

When your rich like WalMart, you just pay a small fine (compaired to your income) and go back to breaking the law.

It's good to hear about all these litigations against Wal Mart, I hope they get screwed, but they won't, big corporations like that have deep pockets, and I'm sure they've got lawyers of their own, plus they deliberately engage in unfair business practices with the understanding that they are taking a calculated risk (of being sued), yet they still show a profit, even though their practices are immoral and illegal.

Unfortunately, it's not only the workers that suffer, but consumers as well, because big corporations like Wal Mart define who the producers of the products they sell are, so they can easily put a garment manufacturer in the US out of business in favor of a sweat shop in China that can make the product for less, plus they limit our choices by driving the competitors out of business. Many people are forced to buy from Wal Mart because they can't afford to go elsewhere. I will not shop at Wal Mart because they suck, and it does my karma good to pay a little extra at a smaller, more local store.

You just shot the biggest huge ass hole in your already hole ridden argument.

Now think about what you just said here. Basically, if people strike, you say that Walmart closes the store. Well, wouldn't that mean if there were enough pissed off Walmart owners, which you pretty much claim there is, that every Walmart in the country would have to shut down due to someone wanting to strike? And all anyone who hated Walmart would have to do is get a group of haters together and each member gets a job at a Walmart and then strikes and BOOOOM the store closes. Eventually the entire corporation would die right?

There ya go PSY... now go get organized and do some damage! LMAO!

McDoanlds and WalMart have only had very few stores make it to unionization, it is not like you can just form a union, the workers have to vote at each location, McDonalds and WalMart tries to stop unions at the vote, by firing workers they think will vote for union and intemidating workers they think are pro-union (WalMart is very good at spying on its workers).
