And if you are an athiest you have no morals...all clear? Okay, good!

If you've only read the "rules" then you obviously don't know if it says anything about cavemen or dinosaurs then do you :D

Just so I'd save you the time though, it doesn't. Hope I didn't ruin the suprise. :p

PS- The Books of Law make up a pitiful fraction of the rest of the Bible and is probobly some of the more straight foreward sections. I find the most confusing part to be Revelations and the Gospels. It is so amazing seeing people try and convey pure aweosme spiritual experience in words. Most of it can have infinite meanings...

I have morals, but not the same kind of morals that Christians sucker us into believing...

No it's not. It's a lie. They use their stupid sugar-coated hopes of "Eternal Happiness in heaven" to make you give them money.

Don't assume that I don't think about my own posts. I've thought very hard about Christianity, being raised in a Catholic family. But after a while, it dawned on me that there is no God and/or Satan, and the religions are complete bullshit.

Christianity is not the opposite of science or reason. To be honest with you I never under stood the importance of proving the whole "Dinosaur" thing on either side. The Bible doesn't mention the Dinosaurs!!! So...What do the dinosaurs have to do with religion or spirituality to begin with?

I know all about Genesis. What was said and what wasn't said. But, seriously...Focus people. Christians and Non. How important is this in the scheme of things?

I don't believe in 'God'. It's not knowing 'God' that matters, it's knowing yourself.

And yes there are some branches of fundamentalist evangelical Christianity and fundamentalist Christian Science that believe that dinosaur fossils are just Jesus's way of "testing our faith".

That concept to me is utter bullshit.

I think it's important to know where we came from and who came before us to understand where we're going as human beings.

Are we talking on a science or religion level? On a science level of course. But, on a spiritual or religious level I see little point.

Hey man, you seem like a good enough guy. It's just that I'm an athiest and I don't support any religion, and I was really fed up with a lot of things with religion (mostly Christianity) when I started this thread.

Hey, if you find inner peace with Christianity, good for you.

Hey I'm actually amazed this thread has gone on for so long. I thought that it would just fade away after about 3 or 4 replies, like all the rest of my threads.

    Haha, thanks :D

And no, sorry FedUp, I am no god...

Yeah, that is cool. The reasons I was explaining myself is because, well, you seemed a little pissed off at my stereotypical legalistic comment about morals which I used to mock the person who said that "if you are a christian, you hate science" (well that isn't a direct quote, but that was the nature of the post)

    Anywho, (I hate saying peace...cause I generally don't like "hippies")...so Peach!

This is the same as not knowing God.
    Both are important.

I have absolutely no idea why you responded to those last 2 quotes with a :) and "It is"? Can you please explain better?

Well, the one comment made me smile. The whole "dinosaur bones test our faith" thing.

Then you said "The concept to me is utter bullshit."

On one hand, you have people basing their understanding of fossil evidence on a literal interpretation of a book written before the rise of the modern scientific faith. On the other hand you have people basing their understanding of fossil evidence based upon a "literal" interpretation of fossil evidence that may or may not have been placed by other intelligent beings without being able to confirm whether the fossil evidence was placed (with the intent of making it look like dinosaurs, archaeons, protolife of all sorts actually lived on the earth as precursors to modern life) or was not placed (which means that the fossil evidence is indication of and information about ancient precursors to modern life).

Both sides look at the "book" that they "read" and claim its absolute veracity (whether it is nature or the bible) without bothering to critically analyse their decision to accept the absolute veracity of the book that they claim to be true. Is every fossil evidence of something that happened in the past or could they have been placed to make certain people believe that something happened in the past?

Well we don't know... But I say dinosaurs living 65 million years ago and then being wiped out by a meteor sounds a lot more sensible than some intangible presence placing bones in the ground.
