They will turn you in, its the law. I work with members of the canadian military, they look down on AWOL just as bad as we do. When someone goes AWOL it doesn't matter where they go anymore, they will find you and put you in jail. Im a cop, I know this. The only people who may be granted citizenship free from punishment, are war resisters, if a new draft is reinstated. The canadian government is not a safe haven for criminals, that is what you become when you go AWOL. You are charged with an article under the UCMJ, which is enforced anywhere on military people. AWOL in a time of war, according to the UCMJ (uniform code of military justice) has a maximum penalty of death.

I am a complete authority on the UCMJ. Ive had to study the articles. We do the leg work most of the time for JAG. I know people who have tried to run to mexico, canada, you name it. They are now in the brig. Once you are enlisted, you fall under the UCMJ. Its as simple as that.
Im security forces, its a little different from being a cop out side of a base. We just handle security of aircraft, facilities, and do personal protection for dignitaries.
I dont suport this war either, do what ever you can to get out. Get out Quick! There is more shit going down now in other countrys two like Israel, Iran, korea, and part of Africa. it's hard telling where George might be sending people next. Right now i see this as a never ending proccess. I hope i am wrong. Seems like it is getting closer and closer to another world war. more and more terrorist are being trained everyday they are growing rapidly. Sure we are taking alot out, we are taking alot of the leaders out. One thing people dont realize though is when you take one of there leaders out another takes that persons place. i dont suport war, i dont suport killing, but i do wish for all of our troops to return home safely and soon. Its sad how so many people are mislead into thinking that war is the answer for everything. I hope and pray that this stops soon.
I have read many stories of american soldiers that were given refugee status in canada on the grounds of political persecution. I don't claim to be an authority on military law, but I am certain that canada will grant refugee status to american soldiers who refuse to fight in iraq. I know this because it has already occured in many instances. Alex
Im saying, canada may take you in, (you can pretty much get citizenship at the border. ) but the military will still be searching for you. They will find you, if you ever plan on making any conventional purchases. Hiding is no way to live in any country.

Not all soldiers are warpigs. A lot of them signed up for the army to get money for college, never expecting a war.
For some, military is the only option if wanting an education. They had no idea they'd be slaughtered for oil.
So war is O.K. as long as I get an education.I'll take the chance that I won't have to kill anyone.Warpigs.
A soldier is in my family now, I don't patronise. People do jobs and I do not judge. Power is it's own problem. I am so pissed
