That bothers me too. Despite lode being satirical, its still always brought up. Its like a giant slap in the face. Trying to discredit anything you have to say.
Thank you for telling me what the video is basically about.. So with that being said, what is so horribly wrong about that? It certainly can't be the way they are going about it, can it? I mean, people go all out sometimes when speaking about something they feel strongly about, I think it has to do moreso with the issue, and that it's basically a woman's issue..That's what I think, I think it's because it's a woman getting loud and perhaps boisterous about something (again, didn't view the video but gathering this from other's posts).. that's annoying some...Not the way she is going about it, but the fact that it is a "she" about a "she" issue.. Course, I could be wrong, but that's just a guess..She has the right to get loud if she wants, doesn't make the issue any less important...
I know! Every time you state your opinion and are forceful or passionate about it, you automatically have PMS, it's annoying, it's brought up all the time... And it's hard because that's all you are, a woman who has PMS..
What happens to women around the "time of the month"...? It is a lazy speak, I admit that...but, again, how do women act at certain points of the month? I'll apologise if this is the lazy mans way of speaking about wimmin, sorry women. I don't say the same thing regardless of the issues being talked about, i'm just talking about this one. I don't wish do discredit what she is saying, far from it. I think what she is saying should be looked into. It is the way she is saying it that winds me up.
Honestly, other than the prologue of the video series: Fuck You ... It seemed like a well argued position to me. It wouldn't win a debate I guess, but it was a youtube video...
Considering the damage to reproductive and abortion rights in the US (and around the world) in the last 7 years I think the woman's attitude was entirely too lenient.
I still stick by my satirical use of 'pms'. I don't even know what the word means. So it's doubly fun.
I will refrain from debating the whole "pms" issue because regardless of what I will say, you will continue to think that any woman who is being hardcore with their issues or being loud about something, they automatically have PMS... It's a cop-out for a man to use that as a reason or excuse for one's behavior, it really is... But I digress... What is so horribly wrong with the way one goes about tackling the thoughts of an issue? Sure, I don't agree with a lot of how people approach issues, but that's their prerogative, so therefore it doesn't deter me from the issue at all, especially if I am for it or agree with it. People argue things in different ways, and because it is a woman, it is automatically assumed that she has PMS or her panties--knickers--are in a bunch..and then she is looked at as some stupid woman who has PMS and needs a nap, or a "nagging-whiny bitch" basically... I would just love to see this switched, I would love to see a man saying the exact same thing as she is saying it about male issues and I would see if you would respond in the same way...
Perhaps, cate, perhaps. Men can be bitches, oops should I not say "bitch"...? "I don't even know what the word means. So it's doubly fun" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premenstrual_syndrome
You really have no idea what it is like to be laughed at for something as lame as pms whenever you are hard pressed on an issue or have it thrown in your face whenever you state your mind, it's insulting and degrading... You know for someone who is so hardcore on race issues, you sure do love to down-play women a lot...or so it seems...
It is a big friggin cop out, I would be the first to admit that. But, I sometimes find it hard to articulate my feelings towards a female. Maybe I resort to the lowest form of abuse...I'm not proud of that, but that is the way it is. I could have said a lot more, but been a loss less gracious about her...I think I was fairly tame. I think you are now aware of how I feel about her. I'm not disagreeing with her, per se. I am angry at the way she addresses the issue. I should look past that, I suppose, but it is hard. To me she is a "nagging-whiny bitch". It is not about all women who raise issues ... it is about HER and the way SHE addresses issues.
I'm sorry. I will re-evaluate this about me, I promise. What do you suggest I say about "nagging-whiny bitches" instead? I sound like I am being sarcastic, but I am not. I would like to know how I can talk about women who act like her.
