alcohol kills both germs and the regenerating tissue hence it makes something take longer to heal..... Ive never used anything on any of my piercings though Ive basically neglected them after piercings and not one has become infected... I guess my antibodies rock

Hmm well it worked for me, but I would favor sea salt. It's cheaper and you can use it for everything.

basically does the same thing as rubbing alcohol in this case.

Yeah, you can use either one of them and not have any problems, but the odds aren't good enough that I would use them instead of saline solution.

For ears (even though I wouldn't recommend it) I've heard a lot of people say that if you really need to, you can dilute peroxide and use it. I did, before I knew about the wonders of salt. lol

Yeah, this dude that works at the pawn shop where I live(the only place to get body jewelry besides the interbuttzaround here) told me to use hydrogen peroxide on my monroe. That and the Listerine fucked me over.I got Morton sea salt the other day and I mix it with warm water andswish that around for a bit. It's still a little sore and swollen, but otherwiseit's doing alright.=D

Glad to hear its doing well. I'd love to see pics :)

If yours is anything like my lip was, swishing the saline solution will actually make it feel better.

pretty much anything but seasalt water concoction and saline solution which are basically the same thing will irritate, dry up, mess with your body chemistry or just plain slow the healing process up...
