Freedom Of Hate Speech

Just to be clear.....I was using the holocaust as an example only because someone used it before me.

 

It is the best example of the bullshit of "freedom of speech" in many countries though.

 

Irm, in no way, was I trying to lighten the topic of the holocaust up at all, Irm..... Serious topic, and I don't want to discuss it on the forum, but you did not do anything then. You were not even alive....lol....just trying to levitate here.

 

I don't think there should be any sentencing for hate words.....no......free speech, and I cherish that freedom for all.....but words can hurt people.....they really can.....but they say it is not what happens to you in life, but what you do with it that matters.....so if someone makes you feel badly about something with words, move to another spot......or something....and if they keep following you around with it....let them have it back or leave forever.

 

I don't deny the holocaust. The numbers.. I don't really have an opinion on. There's more than enough evidence to prove people were being killed and cremated, we've all seen the footage.. I've been to these places, I've stood in them, I've been terrified by them.

 

Now constructive criticism is something else....helps for self examinaion and improvement...I was talking about words just meant ot rip someone apart for nothing.

 

Tolerance is bad. There is only the terrorism for Russians to trust when they may hope the armies settle this land grabbing stuff in the East Ukraine.

 

Being informed well by the propaganda, OR believing human nature is good for people to think that communication was better selective. Putin's idiots?

From my experience, most people would much more likely to look for information that confirms their own world view rather than information that risks disturbing it. Even if that information is so well-documented and mainstream that the alternative is so rare. The reason it's so maligned though, is the ease of forgetting lessons which should absolutely never be forgotten.

The Germans, Russians and Americans all did terrible things during war. It doesn't say anything about those nationalities today, and actually, very little back then. More about the Banality of Evil, how common it is for normal people to do horrible things when it is presented as the norm.

 

Yes the Germans kept meticulous records but who in this day & age is going to stand up and proclaim that it was only 1.5-2 million Jews, not the purported 6 million as we've been led to believe

Some seriously fucked up shit being written in some parts of this thread.

Personally, I think places like Germany and its cronies should have been turned into a total nuclear wasteground, rather than lose a single Soviet/Allied troop. We'd certainly be seeing a benefit today..
