I am me because I try very hard to be the very best person I can be
I am me because I also try not to succumb to what people say I should be doing at my age, because of my gender, because I need to do things the way other people do them
I am me because I'm a great listener
I am me because I wear patchouli every day even though some folks tease me about it
I am me because I am ultra liberal
I am me because I am concerned about the rights of all people everywhere.
I am me because I detest the current administration, and what I feel it is trying to do to American citizens
I am me because I practice earth-based spirituality, shamanism, and Native American spirituality
I am me because I cry and get spitting mad when I think about what has happened to indigineous cultures all over the world, and what we have lost as a race (and planet) because of the destruction of these cultures.
I am me because I love the way I smell after a shower (with patchouli soap, of course!!)
I am me because I love my sweet little Shih Tzu, and my glorious and affectionate cat
I am me because I love my friends

And, I could go on and on.....

 

What a great thread! You all have made me feel good about life.


As for myself, I am proud to be a smart woman.
I am strong.
I love my daughter with all of my heart, even though I was hesitant to be a mother.
I love my husband, even though I was hesitant to be a wife.
I love my family. I have never hesitated about that.
I live in FL, which I do not love, but I try to enjoy the parts that I do like.
I am creative.
I am a slob and I don't care!
I love dogs more than cats.
I hate the stress of working, but I work at a job I am proud of where I help those who need it.
I don't need fancy clothes or a big house to be happy.
I am happy because I value my life.
I am happy because I am hopeful.
