I'm a big fan of latinamerican films...there are really good films from argentina, chile, colombia...the last film i saw was "maria full of grace" but i thought it was a bit "dry", the story was good but the director didnt develop it further to make it more intense imo. Spanish films are really good too, really wacked stuff by almodovar in the 80s man!
I looooove french films too. I havent seen a good film in ages though, the only one i can think of is "a ma soeur" really crazy man, though it's not a real masterpiece per se, but it got me interested til the end, which was pretty unexpected and rather weird.

you say you're into horror films...well, check out "Angel Negro" (black angel) which is the first chilean horror film ever made (and i think the only one!) http://www.michaeldvd.com.au/Discs/Disc.asp?ID=17664
