you do not follow most of the english rules of grammar when you write, which leads to some difficulty reading your posts. its not the end of the world but perhaps you should be aware of it instead of getting incredibly defencive? i can write in german and french as well but i know my grammatical skills in either language are pretty rudimentary because ive only had a few years education in either and ive never been in a francophone community or to germany or anything. dont get so defencive, just trying to explain why some people have difficulties reading your posts.

 

It takes me a while to understand most of what you write. Your english grammer is really hard to understand and you miss use a lot of words.

maybe she should learn 1 language before she trys to learn them all. and when i say learn i mean spelling, gramatics, puntuations, ect.ect.it's not our fault we can't comprehend her multilingual jargin

 

Lorna does actually write very well. I know what being bilingual is like, even that causes little mixups of language sometimes (which are usually actually very charming)...being multilingual like her must magnify this further

Also, i can find mistakes in the posts of every person who has criticised her...and im sure you dont speak as many languages as her, or infact even as well as her in English generally

gotta love the charm of those little mixups. if people really wish to communicate, they will always find a way to do so. actually speaking, much less speaking the same language isn't neccessary. those that wish to criticize lack the willingness to make an effort to communicate and comprehend. obviously since they complain of not being able to understand a few paragraphs, that are 95% correct, written in a language they speak.

 

now this is a fine piece of literary genius. it never ceases to amaze me how our wonderful public education system constantly turns out so many individuals that posses this much talent.

the only language i need to know is my own, i think this is and englsih speaking forum, right????it is nice that she is multilingual but when i took spanish and latin we also were taught how to spell the words properly and also learning the grammatics of the language was a necessity. she is so quick to tell everyone that she speaks all these different languages, however this is not a speaking forum it is a wrting forum and unfortunately (for her)i and some others as well have been trying to comprehend her posts and it is very difficult. my point is instead of learning a bunch of differnt languages why not try learing, and mastering one.

Don't speak English as well as her? Her grammar, well, it's pretty obviously imperfect. It does not follow a lot of the grammatical rules. To a point, understandable since English is a pretty mucked up language but really, at least be aware of your weak points instead of demanding that you are perfect at English, y'know?

I speak French and German as well. But I know that my grammatical skills in both are rather lacking, due to limited education in either. Particularly when it comes to writing because that doesn't flow nearly as naturally as speaking does (most especially with French)

 

it's called sarcasm for starters, lol. coherent??? yes, if you have a degree in ebonics. i was giving the benefit of the doubt as to him having any education and hoping he just wasn't making use of it. my father is a 37 year veteran and counting, of the public school system, it's a miracle he's still alive much less able to teach anyone anything. being the same relevent age as i, i'm sure you've noticed the little "dumbing down" problem that is catching up to us in this country, but i doubt that based on your response. i'm still trying to comprehend how i gave any advice that i'm not following or the impression i am superior to anyone. but then it was just a sarcastic statement to bring about awareness to the problem of lacking comprehension and communication skills. sorry you didn't get it.

the big question is why so many wish to attack lorna's abilities? a language is like a career. linguistically she is an entrepreneur gaining success through trial and error and becoming very successful in many different endeavors. the critics are asking if you want to super size. oh how we hate which we love, but are too insecure to be.
