LOL thats true though in a way i think, i realize now after fasting the other day and drinking nothing but water. truely was a mindaltering experience, i thought MUCH clearer, was much more aware and alert, it almost brought me into a form of meditation or spiritual experience..... then i ate an orange at sundown and i was totally back into a really hazy state of mind, and that was just a (relatively)small fruit. i cant even imagine what how some people are effected, i think it gets to the point where you dont realize that anything you put into your body changes you, because youve put so much into your body that your just always there in that place, and your bodys always digesting and trying to balance all that gunky food and once it gets anywhere near starting that process you put something else in it probably without listening to your body in the slightest...
Well I suppose the term "Junk Food" means different things to different people. While I would not recommend eating Mcdonalds or KFC on a regular basis, I would not consider them to be anywhere near as unhealthy as any margarine or corn syrup.
to me, it means food that does not nourish the body or provide any nutritious value, which is allllllmost everything in a grocery store, lol. really though, everything most people eat is just that, nutrient dead free-cell creating acidic junk, tasty high quality junk, but undeniably, still junk. btw, you said vitamin A is only in animal fat? i have seen it in spinach, onion sprouts, and something else i forget.i am doubting the supposed special form it occurs in meat is a true necesity to a human diet, or hardly worth the compromise. and you say cholesterol or saturated fat have not been linked to heart disease, even my a lot of food labels/stickers are saying diets low in cholesterol and saturated fat or diets rich in fruit and vegetables can reduce the risk of heart disease, a lot more than one label too.. and i believe your really deluded as to where the majority of the meat and animal products in this country is produced, which is inside factory farms. factories are designed to make money, not to consider peoples health, or the environment or the welfare of animals. it is a business, and its driven by greed like most businesses, not knowledge. and if meat is so healthy and they arent doing these terrible things, where is the meat industry standing up for itself saying oh no were not responsible for this??? surely they would defend themselves against all this 'propaganda' in some way. and fast food industries are the worst when it comes to inhumanity and greed for sure, especially KFC...just because it might be healthier than some other crap does not make it anywhere NEAR healthy. fast food indsutries tend to be especially careless about their product. you think a finger is all that was in that ladies chili?lol....their also known to buy beef from south america as well, where livestock grazing is actually the reason why the majority of the rainforest has been destroyed and may continue to be destroyed.
Which is why, once you can, don't get meat from places that do factory farming... if you know the person you are buying from, you'll know what they eat. Or just raise the food yourself. The meat industry is bad. Meat it self doesn't need to be. You just got to watch what you eat. And Fractual... i wish I could fast for a day... but I'm barely 100 lbs so that probably wouldn't be the best thing. And yes, as of now (since I don't have acess to the good stuff) I eat grocery stuff... can't wait till i can stop.
What have you got against acid foods.Does this mean you are not going to eat anything with Vitamin C in it because the other name for vitamin C is ascorbic acid? Also it would mean you would not eat any of those pulses such as lentils because proteins are amino acids?I did Year 12 Biology and we were taught the ph of the inside of the human stomach is about PH2. IE extremely acidic. What would you be compomising? The vegetable you mention contain carotenoids. These have to be converted in the human body to vitamin A .Check with Wikpedia. OK .If you can give me real science, not voodoo science I would be most interested. If you can do this I will become a raw foodist for a day. To be honest I have never been to USA, so I would not really know.I grew up in England but have lived downunder for most of my adult life.Although there is one feedlot about 50K away, it has gone bankrupt twice and is a very expensive thing to set up and operate. There are free range beef cattle around where I am as I oftern have to slow down not to hit one when driving out of town. There is always a market for prime quality beef, so there is no need to hire PR monkeys to promote their product. What is not so easy to sell is old bulls and dairy cows. The latter is essentially the product of the dairy industry.I very much doubt if McDonalds would be using prime beef even if it does come from cleared rainforest land. Well this is what I ate today.Bread used is wholemeal and spread with butter not margarine.Start with a bacon and tomato sandwich for brunch and a jam sandwich. In the afternoon an apple jaffle. For dinner roast lamb with roast vegies. How healthy would you rate that and what did you have to eat?.
generally speaking, acidic foods require more from the body, which is alkaline. it sends the body into crisis trying to balance all of the acid, and in return weakens the immune system and damages a lot of organs and depeletes their true power. and you actually don't need protein if you are on a raw foods diet, the % of your diet that is supposed to be made up is varied all around the world, the US 'requirement' being the highest(i think). protein is found in everything though really, and if your eating food its pretty safe to say your getting adequate protein, and i forget exactly how this works but if you are on a raw food diet the need for protein in the first place drops substantially. and the spinach i was looking at (which was not raw) said it had 130% vitamin A, 100 of that being in the form of beta-carotene. i don't have any 'real science' but its relatively well documented i think that diets high in acidic choleterol saturated fat foods are not as good for you, and that diets rich in fresh fruits and vegetables are very good for you. i have a book now my moms friend lent her which is a recipe book about natural live raw foods diets, and the lady says she overcame cancer naturally without the help of any doctor on this diet. it also has a lady reporting not needing to take medecine anymore for high blood pressure, and a guy with a high risk of heart attacks losing that risk i think and feeling full and healthy again when he eats or something like that, it has a lot of other examples like that, so i think the evidence is there if you want to find it that live foods are much more healthy for us.... i think the meat indsutry here in america is straight up evil, they don't need to defend themselves because millions of hamericans are still eating plenty of meat and raising more unhealthy meat eaters like the meatheads they are, and i think if they were a truely good caring organization they would defend themselves in SOME way from the MANY attacks they get now a days from informed turned on citizens. i would say your meal is healthier than most peoples, but it could still be a lot better. you seem a lot more informed than most though... whats with the bacon though, pigs are supposed to be the least healthy of all animals to eat if i remember correctly. wholemeal bread is good, what is so good about butter though and not margarine? i dont know what an apple japple is, and the roast lamb and veggies were probably not too good.... i have been sick lately, so i've not been eating much at all to give my body more energy to heal, just been drinking lots of water with the occasional small fresh meal for some vitamins and minerals. i had a loot of water after waking up and whenever i got hungry, a lot of times when you feel your hungry its just your body asking you for water, really try drinking a bottle of water next time your stomach growls, its very filling actually. then i had a small salad for dinner, and some organic apple juice with all the micronutrients not found in conventional processed apple juice which was very filling..i am just getting into raw foods, and fasting too.. and i still have a lot to learn, but i am doing pretty good for right now i think.
About this time last year I had shingles. The Doc said my immune system was coping well. Hey raw food diet is fantastic when you are travelling. No stove, no can opener required.I find though that I need to balence dried fruit with some nuts. Most nuts are quite high in saturated fat but don't worry about it.Low fat/high fibre diets give me hemmorhoids.I guess my body is addicted to fat.We all have a certain biological individuality.Gross generallising really annoys me. Are not most fruit and vegetables acidic? Even if it was a relevant factor I drink plenty of water.I think we can safely say that acid foods are not an issue.Ever tried cider vinegar? But this is all anecdotal. You might be right. Why not demand free range organic -or better still biodynamic- meat? I dont think there could be any corporation as evil as DuPont. What they are very good at doing is keeping the lid on adverse publicity.Ok there is cruelty in the livestock industry, but compare the lot of domesticated free range farm animals to their wild counterparts who do not have a guaranteed supply of food and water. Ok I don't like the way livestock are transported over long distances to slaughterhouses. But consider the way wild dogs hunt in packs.I noticed one thing about a German Shepard I had the job of looking after, was that I could sprint much faster than he could but he had far more endurance than what I had. This is what it is like in nature, a pack of wild dogs or wolves picks on a weak herbivore. For a while it outruns the wild dogs but is chased to the point of exaustion.Once the herbivore gives up it is torn apart alive. The captive bolt used on cattle is relative luxury, would you not agree? I find low fat foods do not give me energy.I am a very active person.Carbs give you athletic energy for about two hours, but for endurance fat is the go.What carbs I have are just vehilcles for fat.I used to have sausages for breakfast but I read about all the cancers that you can get from sausages.Incidentally all the scientific research usually quoted for the ill effects of meat is on sausages not on meat itself.Anyway after a fatty meal I can go hours without food as long as I have plenty of water. Wholemeal bread is better than white but all shop bread contians that blasted soy.Why can't they make it without soy? Margarine and butter.Have a look at the ingredients labels. Butter : cream, water , salt. Margarine: vegetable oil (in most cases it is cottonseed oil and let us not forget that cotton is the world's most polluting crop) water ,yellow colouring and heap of other non-food ingredients that you have never heard of.They quietly forget to tell you that there are margarine contains nickle and aluminium residues from the catalyst process.Initially the veg oil is heated to a very high temperature so that it goes black!I find it increadable that so many people who are conscious of what they eat use margarine beleiving it to be a healthy alternative. It is an abomnation to humanity.Margarine is not food!It is chemically very similar to some plastics.Unilever a chemical company is a big player in Australia in the margarine market. A jaffle is a sandwich with the butter on the OUTSIDE and gently pan fried in a frying pan or a sandwich press. Eating lamb seems to give me more energy. The problem I have with all veg oils is that many of them are extracted using high temperatures and chemical solvents. If I could get some genuine cold pressed olive oil in dark or opaque bottles that would be ok otherwise I will stick to dripping , ghee and butter. Try chicken homemade chicken broth, maybe some coconut milk /cream /oil or better still fresh coconut if you can get hold of one.
i agree, everyone is different and has different ways of sustaining themself, but we must really consider sustaining the world and the bigger picture as well while we are at it and look at whats important... and no generally speaking fruits and veggies are highly alkaline and very easy on the body to digest. i remember reading meat takes a lot longer to digest and we dont have the amount of acid most carnivores do in their stomachs to digest it so quickly so it doesnt become rancid... i'm sure they have whole grain bread or some form of whole grain without soy somewhere, why don't you like soy, or are you allergic? and how is cotton the worlds most polluting crop(justcurious)? i find i dont ever really need food for energy, and generally that whatever energy i say i do or dont have is up to me, if i want to do something and i feel like i should be doing it, then nothing i've aten is going to stop that. would seem, with fasting and not eating as much as most people, giving the body excess energy not having to digest food but still having minerals and vitamins from being healthy generally would be the best way to stay clear and energetic, to me anyway, i remember reading that one fifth of the food you eat actually goes to your brain, and that makes some sense to me. have to admit though, i just got totally baked the other day for the first time in a loooong time and i have been feasting on sooo many vegan treats and meals, lol, just made 3 organic chocolate chip pancakes about 5 minutes ago... its all in your head though really, you dont need any food to really do anything, which is why i think we should look at the bigger picture and the environment when we sit down to eat a meal or go buy new cotton t shirts, im not saying ignore your health at all when i say we should make compromises for the greater good, ive made what looks like ahuge compromise to some people becoming vegan but it was truely one of the easiest things i have done in life, and has been a wonderful learning experience and i really do think i am a lot healthier than i used to be, without making any huge dramatic change or putting a lot of effort into changing just something as simple as a diet. transisting into a raw food diet though, i could see people having a little more difficult time being to conditioned to processed food, bet it feels great when you overcome that and your taste buds change though. people have bad connotations on the world health, but if you ever go into a health food store there is soooooooooooo much good stuff that a lot of people overlook i think...
Well I own a PH probe -it looks a bit like a meat thermometre- and I decided to test many food stuffs that I have in my kitchen.Experiments with repeatable results are the essence of the scientific method.Anyway some results are: Cooked yellow split peas,PH 8, raw broccoli PH7,raw onion PH7, raw rump steak PH6.5, orange & mango juice PH5, apple cider vinegar PH5.Given that meat is a rich source of protein and protein is a generic term for amino acids it is not really surprising that it has a acid PH.In any case the the inside of the human stomach is about PH2. Remember every ph number you go up or down the scale is 100 times stonger than the previous. So ph 5 is 100 times stronger tha ph6.It seems like an invalid arguement. If you can point me to some scientific research I would be most interested. Soy attacks destroys the human thyroid gland.IMO it is not for for human consumption.Cotton is a crop that is almost impossable to grow organically. There are much lower yeilds and nobody is prepared to pay higher prices for organic cotton.Yes cotton required a huge amount of pestisides .In order of pollution cotton is followed by tobacco, coffee, bananas and lettuce.
Let's see what you think of these situations Fractual... tell me in logical terms why these people should be vegan. 1. 19 year old girl. 5'3" 90-100 lbs varying. Very active (yoga, horseback riding, dance, purposely makes even walking active). Is awake for about an hour after sleeping or eating then loses all energy. Cannot gain weight over 100 lbs. Too much eating will actually make her lose weight. At times runs through a phase of anemia or any other low iron problems even though she takes a multi vitamin (100% of iron) and has never come back positive for any of those problems. Has a TSH level of .25 on a .7 to 6.0 scale (lower number faster metabilism and .7 is the lowest healthy) yet the actually thyroid test comes back normal. high carb, protein diet with relatively good suplementation of fruits and veggies (if her college actually has good ones) 2. 19 year old girl with PCOD. Alters all of her hormonal levels. Also active, normally does not be sessile unless tired. Gets tired very eay (sleeps through classes). Alternates between vegitarinism and omni. Does not show strees or depression even though it will take a toll on her body. 3. 19 year old guy. Military. Has to keep with working on muscle levels. Already has a good imune system but will get sick during stressful times. Physically, very healthy.
i tryed this erlier but my isp shut my ass off no spin im an omnivor have done some long term hikes i know the value of fat you cant live with out it but it dosnt need to be of animal origin. all i was trying to say was that throughout my life i have come across certain info that leads me to beleive that when you eat acidic food it doesnt nessicerily create a acididic condition whithin your blood what i have found is if you dont have certain nutriunts to balance the absorbsion of other protiens fats or carbohydrates culmanates into an acidic condition! i am not an expert but this has been put in my mind for more than just a few years!
im not familiar with terms you used in the first 2 examples nucleosis so i wont answer those and i dont know where exactly your going with this but the 3rd guy could logically go vegan and raw foodist to truely make his immune system 'good' and work to its true potential or closer to it...dont need meat or animals to stay muscular or healthy, there was once a vegetarian bodybuilder... and i also think meat is harder to digest, even read an article on the paper that says it could be the cause of people feeling tiresome so much all the time, cuz it requires so much energy to digest and balance. fruits and vegetables flow through the digestive system a lot better and cause the body a lot less stress and require less energy generally speaking i think. ethics is what it boils down to for me. i know i dont need meat to be healthy, i know i dont need any animal product to be energetic, and i know i dont need any animal product to enjoy good food, so why would i eat them and subject the environment and those living creatures to the bad things that we do? what makes me so deserving to say that the environment and animals should be subject to the stuff we subject so we can all eat enormous amounts of meat? btw, bilby-hemp seed oil is actually the perfect balance of omegas, not fish oil.. found that out the other day, its bloody expensive here though since it isnt legal to grow anywhere near here...
which terms didn't you get? anemia: low iron in blood TSH: Thyroid Stimulating hormone- controls metabolic rate hoped those helped PCOD is a cystic ovarian disorder... forgot what the P stands for. if you read I stated that it screw up all your hormones. Where I'm going with it is do you think all people need to give up meat to be healthy and how these people would REALLY benefit from doing that. and if you want to give good answers... look up the medical conditions yourself. P.S. how will he manage with the army forcing them to eat specific things because for guys in basic they don't want them getting erections so they put anti viagra in the eggs. and you have to eat the eggs to get the hormones. Screws up the vegan thing there huh.
well, if they would like their arteries to be unclogged and hearts to function closer to its potential and never get heart disease they could stop eating meat and animals which are where cholesterol come from and eventually end up inside you.. if they want to be a total health nut, they could go raw foodists which is where you eat a very wide variety of vegetables and fruits and nuts that are all fresh live food that still have enzymes in them.. you blend your own juice, make your own dressings with blenders on the spot, etc.. and dont eat anything that is cooked or processed, and this has shown to improve the immune system incredibly and cause wayy less stress on the body than typical american diets, even with diets that are just made up of mostly raw foods. to be truthful, im not aware entirely of all of the health aspects of it, but i seemed to be a lot healthier after going vegan and i have read a lot of stuff suggesting it is a way healthier diet. eating meat and animals do not provide any real dietary advantage, i know that much.. and it just seems like its really is the right thing for me, and i bet a lot of people would feel the same way if they just opened their minds to new things and new foods and information....
And I'm going to have to say though since you DON'T know what people's problems with a condition are then stop telling them that they should go vegan. With none of them did you really give a good reason that pertained to the person. All you used were generalities. Despite what you might think, some people need to have meat in their diet for health reasons. I was the first girl. It was when I was trying veggie I got pnuemonia and feel from 90 to 75 lbs. I know if I had been going vegan and wasn't even letting myself have milk it would have been worse. I didn't start getting better until I started eating meat again. Basically now if you could, instead of saying how people should do this because it's so much better for everyone, can you keep it to why you personally did and realize that some people cannot afford to go that route? That's what stirred me to do this in the long run, the fact that you want to convince everyone to do this because you think it's better yet have no real health benefits or information about how it will make your diet more suited for it. I love the fact that you are doing this from your heart but you have to realize that, the way you're doing it won't get you anywhere.
well i did says that i felt veganism was right for me, and it felt really right for ME to be a vegan, which sordove implys it might not be for everybody, which is why i didnt go to tell the people with all of those medical terms i am very unfamiliar with what they should do with their lives... but i think it could sure be for a hella lot more people if we all just opened our minds and learned a little bit more.... btw, you might not have got pneumonia from a veggie diet, just going veggie or vegan does nto mean you will automatically become healthy or eat right... eating right takes knowledge and time and evolution i thinlk...
my freind got sick one time years ago when he was going thrugh transition the doc. was cool said just a little chicken broth it fixed him right up gotta luv grandma! the thing is if you try and do it all at once there can be complications! learn before you act! if its to much to soon slow down!
