flyign on a plane so xanex

does it really matter if i eat the whole bar? i mean as long as im asleep, i dont think i could cause any damage. i seriously just need to be knocked the fuck out.

 

I think a bar would be just fine and mellow you out just enough, without causing you to black out or go crazy. All it would do for me is piss me off, but that's just me. lol I don't think it would be smart for me to get on a plane on any more than 6mg of xanax, because I would end up getting kicked off before the plane took flight, or I would end up causing an emergency landing or even a crash landing, due to my tendancy to get a little wild. lol

 

I doubt your doctor is going to give you a bar. I know when I took xanax I took it for several years and for the first year, when I just took it on occasion (for plane rides and such) .25 would always ease my anxiety and if I wanted to sleep on the plane .50 worked great.
Once on a flight I took 6 .25's (...so that would be 2.5 mg's?by accident-don't remember taking more than two) and I woke up when the plane landed with a flight attendent stading next to me. I asked for indian food on the plane and had dreams there was a chutney buffet.
I'm kind of a light wieght though. I have a very low tolerance for everything.
It depends what your plane ride is for as well. I have always flown for work or to visit someone, never really in a situation where it would be okay if I was knocked out when I landed.
If it was an overseas plane ride or to a funeral or something of that nature I could see taking a lot...but 2 mg. is just way too much for someone who has never taken it before. You also look like a smaller girl, so I think 2 mgs would not be a good situation.

First, there is no way your doc is going to give you more than .5 mg of xanax. Any more than that and you will fall asleep and still be groggy after you wake up. I take 3 mg a day in extended release form and thats after starting at 1 mg(due to being on klonopin and having a well documented tolerance for benzos and opiates) and in nearly 3 years of taking it my dose has barely increased IMO. Speaking strictly from personal experience and 6 years of listening to my girlfriend(LPN and soon to be RN) I'd say you might want to go the route of valium, klonopin or ativan(in that order of preference) as they are shorter acting and you can easily take more if you need to. Just my oipions though. The doctor should always be given the most consideration. Good luck!

 

Not to be rude, but just so the OP is informed: Xanax is the shortest lasting of all the benzos you listed as it has the shortest half-life.

Maybe I'm weird, but I have never gotten any effects from less than 2mg of xanax, even when i first started taking them. I ate 2mg the first time I ate xanax and barely noticed anything at all. I'm a little guy too......only about 135-140lbs. It's true that some people are affected a lot more than others are though, so maybe start with 1mg and take another if you need it, as others have suggested.

 

Damn u guys are all lucky as fuck, bars are 7 a piece or 3 for 20 in my "rich lily white" town. Then only way to get them cheaper is buying 50 for 250 or 100 for 400...prices in my town are fucking whacked,,,and yes i know my whole town and almost every drug dealer in it....

Man I used to get 100 bars for $100! Prices since then have gone up a bit, now i get 100 bars for $120-130. roxi30s are $10, or I get 20 roxies for $160-170. And the roxies aint even from a good connect meaning I dont get them from a friend. Thats just standard price here. If I was getting them from a friend I would probably pay $100 for 20 roxies, that $5 each!

and back to the topic. To the OP, if your doctor doesnt give you atleast 1mg, fuck him and just get the xanax from th streets. remember to get some for the ride back too.

 

ok so tell me if this sounds alright. I get one bar and take 1 mg on the way there. hen if that was too much ill take half of the other mg when i come home. im going to visit family in italy but i really dont want to go. plus the fact that i hate planes will def freak me out. i might as well get two bars so i have to take while im in italy, haha. One good way to look at is what dom said. I wont ever have to go again after this so its the last time i will ever be on a plane for 8 hours. That seems like forever. Theres no where to go if i start freakin out on the plane so i figure it will best for everyone if i take the half bar. Plus my dad is so understanding, i could get him to pay for the bars! He is a bad flier to so maybe we can just both be passed out together. How can you guys tell me that 8 hours not being able to go anyway is fine with you? i guess this phobia of flying is getting the best of me. Thanks for your help tho.

 

its an 8 hour trip so you probably need to take more. like half a bar when you get on the plane and another half like 3-4 hours into it. xanax has a short half life, meaning it doesnt last that long. just get a couple of bars, just to be prepared.

 

but if im asleep already, would i need to take more? are you saying after i take it and sleep, i will wake up after the affects wear off?

 

Half a bar may not even put you to sleep. It depends on how anxious and nervous you are. You may need more, and you may need less.

lol this sounds confusing to you im sure, everyone is telling you different. i highly recommend you take 1mg and thats quite a bit for a first timer, the first time i took .5 mg i was verrrry relaxed and sedated, but since your on a plane and wanna passout 1mg will do that. you prob. wont need to take another if your already asleep, it shouldnt wake you up just because itworeoff. But if you wake up hours later you might wanna take .5 mg or another 1mg for the landing or whatever. be safe, have a good flight

 

Dammit man. I wish I could become relaxed and sedated on .5mg, or even 2mg, of alprazolam.

Last friday, I went to a club, I was drinking beers, long island ice teas, tequila mixes, all types of shit, and i popped 3mg of xanax, and got straight, but i didnt really feel the bars that much, mostly the drinks...
