Right. Foxfarm is more reliable in their advise than many but they all tend to tell you the high end of the possibilities if ph'd properly. Stick to half strength if you feed often. I find many people tend to over feed at first. BOG
Hahahaha i know it sounds like nothing. But being that they are in 1 gal containers.......and the soil drains very well......at 1 1/4 cups it pisses out the bottom so i just backed off and give 1 cup every 4 days and no signs of under watering at all As for the plants i did a "no-no" but in this case it worked out I watered with just water yesterday but the time before yesterday i watered with nutes again......at 1/2 strength........and miraculously it worked out the spots stopped and growth is booming.......plus started 12/12 on day 31 and they are LOVING the HPS. Have the containers 3 gal. just waiting for signs of sex then ill put the females into their new homes and make hash or save for butter or something with the males. Either way smell is coming on, plants are loving life right now, and should be sexxed in the next few days - 42o -
Hey Bushy! Welcome back!!! Hey M4N While in the flowering cycle, might not be the best time to re-pot. I would have re-potted before going to 12-12, I'll let Bushy have the last word on that! Sounds like the Ocean Forest carried the grow just about all the way to flowering. The Grow Big may have been introduced earlier; but it's best to play it safe untill you see how these products work together! Now it's about time to start in with the Tiger Bloom nutes before too long. Well - at least the spots went away!!! The first grow is always a learning experience - "There will be a quiz later!".
Hey T.H., I would have liked to transplant earlier but i didn't really want to transplant all 6 then wait for sex to show and then have to take the males out. Im feeling confident that they should be showing sex here really really soon........as soon as they do ill transplant the females.............next time im just going to start them in the pot they will finish in.....much less hassle it seems like. I would love for 6 females but 6 LST'd plants wont fit in my area......I have room and light for 3 tops.......gonna try somethin different next time around.........been doin some reading and got some decent ideas......but thats way down the road still but anyways, lights come on at 6PM so ill be in there lookin for some pre-flowers And about the quiz at the end.........Im gonna hold ya to it...... Ill keep ya updated here and at my journal about the sexes as soon as they show. - 42o -
Yeah, it's always a little hectic when you're trying to get things organized. But after you know what to expect, things just kind of fall into a cyle. You have already seen how trying to eliminate the males can throw your schedual off (transplanting). A good way to eliminate the problem is to eliminate the males altogether. There are a lot of benefits in using clones. It may sound complicated but it's not much more tricky than germinating seeds. With seeds, half of your effort is wasted on male plants and you can't really tell which female will end up being the "Best". Of course it takes a whole grow to find out which female was the best; but after that, with clones, you can reproduce many copies of that same "Best" female. Just a thought; for "down the road"! About sarting them in the same pot they will finish in. Lots of pro's & con's both ways!!! The real kicker for me is the root developement thing. Argument A. By re-potting a couple of times; you keep the root ball more confined and dense. It is better developed because it is allowed to grow out in stages. Argument B. In a big pot from the start; the roots will fill-in all of the available space anyway. I believe Argument A., but I really can't tell you why!!! I have no proof - I've tried both ways and they both seemed to work. The repotted root ball just "looked" better - like the difference between a bushy plant and a leggy one; if that makes sense. Maybe a real guru will be able to straighten us out on this one. I was just kiddin' about the quiz! But at least I know you read my post all the way to the bottom!!! LMAO Just keep up with the "book learnin'"!!! The more you know - the better you grow!!!
yep, im plannin on cloning in the near future...maybe another 2 grows or so after this one......then maybe ill try my hand in cloning Yea i've seen it done both ways too.........just seems like so much hastle that you dont have to do (transplanting). And with very little effects......from what i can see......ill just start em' in their finishing pots - 42o -
Alright alright alright 6 Females!!!! Well looks like i am going to have to find room for all the little girls........it was goin to be tight with 3 but 6 wow.......kept the 2 bushiest ones tied down and freed the other 4 from their ties.....gonna be tricky with 2 lst bushes and 4 that have a bend in the stem then just go straight up but i think i have somethin worked out.....anyways just thought i would update ya and let you know that i have 100% Females - 42o -
I often do wait until a week into flowering to do a last transplant when growing from seed. This allows male identification before the final transplant. When growing clones I would agree that the last transplant should be done in veg stage if possible and a short time to root prior to flowering be allowed. However, Soma and I agree that part of the key to healthy plants and large yields is continued rooting in the first half of flowering. While it is true that, rooting stops and this can lengthen flowering times by a week or more, but the returns are worth it. Plants do wish to continue to root in flowering for a time so some space left to root at the beginning of flowering is great! Either way will work. BOG.
Many give me respect and it humbles you when it's sincere. I respect every human and animal and plant. When we look at how we can help we also help ourselves. A teacher learns so much everyday. We are all students and teachers both at the same time. When young the mind is like a sponge accepting and sucking up information at an incredible pace. As you age it gets harder to learn but by teaching you participate in debates that teach you something everyday. My mother says, "you learn something new everyday". You just said it too and I was just saying it the other day to a young but wise friend. When Soma talks I listen respectfully but I listen to everyone. It is just that when Soma says something about growing weed you know it's true. He is the real deal and I like to think the honor he bestows upon me to be deserved. We all have our more respected fellows and when a person honors another without jealousy he or she respects themselves. Anyone can be mistaken of course. I am probably misinformed about many things. That's why I like exchange of ideas where all respect each other. My life has been a trip and I have been so lucky that there must be a purpose that involves more than my selfish desired and egotistical ideas. Thanks. Have a look of my perfected BlueMoonRocks Clone bud. BOG
