Well, we're working on that right now. We've been distributing our EP to various people across the country in the business and received a great response back. We're meeting with some in Toronto in a few weeks. Also, we've begun sending it out to college and university radio stations around Canada, trying to stir a bigger buzz. Our EP is played here on Montreal's CISM (Université de Montreal) and we're currently on their charts with one of our tunes. So, we're working hard to advance, now more than ever since we found our "keeper" drummer. Slowly but surely.
Btw... those who mentioned getting a copy of the EP... we're currently getting copies printed and we'll practically only charge for the shipping (this EP is simply to get our music out there and in CD players, not for profit). Simply send me an email at lisa@fluidrouge.com asking me to add you to our mailing list. That way, you'll stay updated on its status.
o you make lovely music. i think the girls voice is from you, cause then you are a nice singer!! beautifull voice
Just out of curiosity, have you (the band) ever played a gig sitting down? Nice pic, by the way. You guys look great!
Excellent. This may sound trivial, but how did it compare to playing a gig standing? Do you know of any other bands that play seated?
We felt naked. lol It's not something we're used to doing... but we didn't have a drummer and we had that gig to do. However, it was loads of fun! It was a lot easier to hear our own vocals, which made the harmonies a lot easier to duplicate. We were also a lot less energetic seated than we are standing. I prefer to stand personally and I doubt we'll do many gigs seated. But, we do want to start sitting on benches during the acoustic section of our set list now... we think it breaks up the performance.
Oh, cool beans. When you didn't have a drummer, would you say it seriously affected the overall sound of the band, or could you go without a drummer if you had to?
Nah. We could play without one. We really try to write and bring in songs that are good even on an acoystic guitar with a voice. You know a song's worth writing if you like it in its bare form. So, the songs we've written all started acoustic.
Good point. I work by what the Beatles said: if you can remember a song without having to write it down, it's a good song. Do your other band members have accounts on hippy.com?
Nope, but I've been encouraging them to get some because I absolutely love the people here. Everyone's chilled out and groovy. And yes, I agree with that quote 100%. A song has to grab onto your brain and not let go. The best ideas get trapped in your head for days.
I always love it when you write a song and it gets stuck in your head, and I agree wholeheartedly about hippy.com . Do you know of any other bands that have a similar sound to yours?
