i much prefer barefooting. but, they are a good defense when going somewhere that the shoes nazis would put you out for being barefoot.

Too many pairs, yet they are not even worn.

I just have two pairs of flip-flops, both of them black. The poster whose flip-flops are displayed above are the most I've seen from ANYONE.

I own one pair which I take out with me in a bag and wear under protest where being barefoot may not be acceptable (mainly doctor's surgery, veterinary clinic, interviews ;)), - as soon as I'm done, the flip-flops are off and away. Otherwise, they never see the light of day - don't see the point in carrying around something which won't get used ;)

For emergencies and places that don't allow, how do you guys carry around a back-up pair of flip flops? (or any other shoes I suppose). :D

I usually either have flips in the car if I get hassled I go get them. But, mostly not hasseled.

Oh yeah, sorry, I'm only 15. I'll be getting a car next year, but this being my first year barefoot, I want to be as much as I can. I'll be going to the mall tomorrow, my only transportation being my mom (lmao). And so I was wondering if I should take some flip flops just in case, but have no idea how.

Do you have a backpack? If so throw the flips in there. If not just carry them or put them in a back pocket and have an innocent look on your face if you get "the look" from anti-barefooters. And I'm guessing wearing jeans is a bit more discrete than barefoot and shorts. Least wise the 2 times I got thrown out I was wearing shorts. Good luck. Have fun!

I like to crutch barefoot as much as possible but I usually keep a flip flop in one of my back pockets and slip it on if necessary

It's quite interesting learning about the different social standards in different places.
It seems that for some of you even thongs (What we call 'flip flops') seem to be looked down upon by the rest of the community as hobo and that.
Here, they are the social accepted footwear. You'll see just as many people in thongs as closed in shoes around the city and shops and such.

But yeah, keep a pair in your bag for if you need to put some on. Sometimes I like to just walk around with them in my hands too if I have a pair with me
