I disagree that it is spherical in the way that Nasa describes it to be. You said that the Earth is spherical and while I have mentioned before that it may be in some ways a sphere I don't believe it is in the way that Nasa describes it. You can look back at my previous posts if you want to see what I mean by this. If you came to the same conclusion doing your own thing then that is fine but that doesn't mean that everyone will come to the same conclusion. I don't agree with you on that but you may believe what you want.
If that is so, you probably shouldn't respond with a "People on Hipforums... when you have a different opinion " meme to someone facepalming your view.
It doesn't take away from my point that if anyone expresses a different opinion people get upset about it. It doesn't show that I care if they agree with me or not.
I don't think people get as upset about these things as you think, so never post it again and we won't have that confusion about it being about people agreeing with you or not.
With that meme you are falsely posing that they only challenge your opinion because it is different. And even that they're outraged by someone having a different one. This is simply not as often the case as you like to insinuate, and it wasn't the reason you got a face palm in this thread at all. You got that because of the exact details of what your opinion entails and how you argumented it so far.
Well, we advice you that you deal with the criticism as an adult, or if that's not an option ignore the criticism, not falsely dismiss it as an outrage over an alternative opinion.
Maybe not as often as i would think but I found it to be funny. I see nothing wrong with how I have expressed my opinion. c:
*Sigh* People may believe whatever they want. The photo is a meme and I think it's funny. c: It's how the ancients depicted the world to look like and in many cases I agree with them. c:
Seems unlikely, but ok. In fact, in college they're teaching about how it's round. You can look at planets with a telescope and see their shape as well. And the moon in the sky is round. No, I'm going with round earth.
You tried to pass it off as a funny remark of something very real at first. Only after we tore it apart you acknowledged it was an exaggeration at best and did not even apply in this particular situation.
Whether I meant it as something serious or not doesn't take away from the humor that I feel when I post it. I think it is funny. You tore nothing apart. People who feel similar to you get upset when anybody expresses a different opinion or belief
I really don't care one way or another what someone may believe I just don't like when it is being forced on me. That's it. Some people here keep forcing their opinions and beliefs down my throat and get mad when I don't roll with it.
From what I gathered from Behind the Curve, all of them ascribed to other conspiracy theories prior to Flat Earth, so maybe these conspiracies cycle about and when one conspiracy loses momentum, they cling on to the new conspiracy gaining traction. That documentary focused on some of the leaders of Flat Earth, so for them, perhaps leading a community, profits and fame might be motivations. Only a couple of guys seemed intent on actually providing evidence via experiments to attempt to disprove the spherical Earth. I don't get the impression these people are attempting a full out assualt on empiricism, they seem to understand they'll need evidence if they are genuine in their convictions and they seem to enjoy the amenities afforded to them by technology, to be able to discuss their views and congregate. However, there is a definite distrust, in the vein of postmodernism, in the legitimacy of established institutions and how they relay information.
