Its all about going out snowshoeing on those beautiful crisp winter nights with neighbors and friends, we sit out in the woods and take swigs of fireball or we eat magic brownies. Great memories, can't wait!

i love this time of year with all the fall leaves and everything..its so beautiful. And then the snow comes. I love snow. I used to live in Northern PA so we would get alot, but now I'm in southern Pa and we barely get any :(

Its whatever you fancy... you'd be surprised how interesting the woods are at night in comparison to the day.

There's too many swamps around here to walk in the woods at night... might trip over a water moccosin. I love swamps though... the scariest thing that ever happened to me was that a water moccosin was on a tree I was on when I was climbing it aross a swamp. That was a few months ago... another time, one came right up next to my leg while in the water... that was back about a couple years ago when I was fishing. The creepiest thing is listening to appalachianesque dobro and bluegrass music in the woods alongside a swamp. There's this area of dragon run called streamside that I skipped school one day and read bob dylan's biography (chronicles volume one) in... I made a necklace of poplar bark that day. I still have it in my desk drawer.

Walking where you live would scare me at too by the sounds of it. I'm talking about walking in the winter though, thats two totally different things.

I know... but it's still creepy around here in the winter. I walked through the woods Friday for about two miles and came upon a log cabin and a dog chased me and this oddly speaking bearded santaesque man who lived there chased me in his truck...

Exactly... you just never know. One day two kids on dirtbikes tried to outrun the police a couple years ago and they got stuck in the swamp... they came up from behind our house and we gave them cokes. They were driving their dirt bikes on the highway. That's when we lived back on the farm...

*sigh* chicago weather is so unpredictable. it was 75 on saturday, and today it was 27.

I do like dancing around outside, and i like to wear as little clothing as possible without being actually naked, so winter pretty much sucks.

    snow is yummy

We got our first snow here over a month ago. We have over a foot on the ground right now, and since the temperature will not be above freezing until spring the snow we already have, and any more we get, will stay until then.

Winter is the best. Nothing like Standing at a bonfire with the temp below zero F watching the northern lights dance.

Sitka is a great place, though I haven't been in years. It's a lot wetter and warmer than here.
