first gathering ocala2010.. advice appreciated!

Yeah..............Ocala is what it is but it's not the monster you make it out to be..........As far as their being alot of "A-Camp" at Ocala your wrong on that one bucko, A-Camp is for the most part defunct, alot of people have died or disappeared, I can tell you at Ocala this year the ONLY A-Camper I saw was Cosmo, and the rest was Front Gate. You can call Front Gate A-Camp all you want but you'd be wrong, Those kids are proper and they run one of the best kitchens in the woods, hands down, and while alot of the weekenders, and fashion hippies come in, leave a big mess, and won't help out with rides for traveling kids, Front Gate and the dirty kids clean up the mess left behind, and make sure everybody gets out...........alot of these weekenders will sooner haul garbage out than give a traveling kid a ride. Maybe you need to reevaluate your opinions, just because you've had some bad experiences in the past does that really make it right to totally give up on it?? Rainbow takes all colors and all types, throwing around labels and judgements and trying to scare off new blood is counterproductive, stop sabotaging your family, if you don't like something about it, then get up and do something!! Instead of sitting behind your keyboard bitching, you should be out in the woods feeding people and teaching..........if you feel that strongly about certain elements you view as negative.......then you ought to be out in the woods working for your family, healing, and working to fulfill our purpose, otherwise your just a hypocrite. That's one of my pet peeves...........it's all well and good to schwag someone out for the way they act but why aren't you teaching???

As I've said in other posts, Ocala is NOT a good first experience. Go to a national and get a REAL feel for what the Rainbows are all about. Ocala is not rainbow. Ocala is Roaddogs, Crusty Kids, Drainbows, and Alcoholics.

I got nothing against someone's particular lifestyle choice, but it's not a healthy environment for someone with a family who wants a peaceful experience. The stress level is high enough with all the feds around... Then you add negative people who are supposed to be your family and all they want is to steal, fight, and sell drugs.

No... You won't convince me that Ocala is Rainbow anymore. It's been hijacked by bad elements.

You can disagree with me all you want my friend (and I respect your right to do so), but you won't change my opinion of Ocala. I've been there and done that more than once...

The REAL Rainbow Gathering is in July. That is the one where someone new would have a great experience and discover what true Rainbows are.

Ocala is the one that attracts all the bad attention.

Other than my "Ho!" post I had decided to let this thread be other than monitoring it to ensure it remained civil. Your last post has changed that.

The "Annual" is in July. You're quite incorrect about it being the only "real" gathering. Every regional, potluck or drum circle is a real Rainbow gathering. The annual is just the big one.

Whether you like it or not these folks are Family, too.
We need to teach them the Rainbow way not disparage them. And be careful what you say about the so called "Krusty Kids" They are my adopted children. I have shown them they are loved and cared for. In return I have seen the love in them emerge.

So, tell me, where do I fit in to the four categories of people you describe? Or the Puffs, Brother Ray and Jesus Camp or the Hammock tribe or the fine folks whose kitchens feed us all? I must admit to having my one beer with A-camp or the Front Gate crew. It's been my tradition for years. Otherwise I don't drink alcohol.

As far as Front Gate goes...how is it I can be there any time of the day or night without fear of being hurt? I'll tell why...because I have shown them that I love them.
It really does work.

As far as families go...I've seen many families with children at Ocala having a blast. Last year Front Gate had a really cool "Kiddie Corral" lined with quilts and full of toys. The kitchen supplied juice and snacks for the little brothers and sisters.

While I will not argue that Ocala has some big problems (and some have been caused by the fucking Hi-holies) it is and will remain Rainbow!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well florida isn't at that well educationally and politically stable.Although , there are a very high volume of crusties here im one, it really sucks here people are ignorant but there are a very high amount of homless feed organizations you just gotta defend yourself thats how it is here but you find family is just a new squat away i have buddys from key west to lakeworth all the way to st augustine

As it has been asked by an elder that the Family should be clued in as to what and why I am here and they'd be allowed to give consensus.. this would be a perfect time to utilize this request, which I agred to.

I'd also like to state that as par to Moderating Code, mods do not have to get permission to do their jobs. Most ppl dont know what goes on behind the sceens. When there is a problem and one or more complaints are made, we look it over and make a discission based on what we see and how the poster in question is behaving. When we have made our discission we take action. We dont discuss it with the other posters.

This person disrespected a sister three times in two threads and another brother and sister also. I got a complaint, came in to take a lookie lu and saw what I saw, felt what I felt and said what I said.

When faced with a Meanie I get tough bc tough is the only way to pull their covers, now as you all can plainly see after the Light was shined on the Meanie he could not hide and has revieled his true intent and that is to do harm.
