Final question

There are many Anti-war groups all over the country, some of them specifically opposing a draft, and military recruiting presence in schools, and offering counter-recruitment counselling and information on compiling a CO file for youth who would wish to file as consciencious objectors should a draft occurr.

I myself have donated time, money, and products to an Anti-war Crisis Center here in Rochester which offers counter-recruiting services and CO information as well as hosting meetings, events, and protest information; have marched with the center in the Memorial Day parade helping to carry one of several banners demanding an end to war funding; am raising two children as pacifists and training them in non-violent conflict resolution; and am compiling a CO file for my son, who accompanies me to rallies and events.

Might I ask what you are doing to oppose the war, besides posting accusatory polls on a "nostalgic website"?

Just a suggestion, you might inspire more people to effective action if you share with us what it is you are doing yourself, list some suggestions for specific strategies, post some information on the group you want to form, or post some links to existing groups, rather than posting a poll and insulting or accusing those you are trying to reach, and making vague calls for unspecified action and the creation open-ended, ill-defined groups or movements and grandiose demands for vast social and cultural transformations without a specific goal, or strategy or indication of rational, coherent consideration iin mind.

 

This is your world as much as it is mine. The youth of today are the ones enlisting and fighting the wars.

There is no draft, there probably won't be one, because that would mean that rich kids would have to fight too.

This site is actually more about youth than it is about old farts like me. But you will never really understand "hip", it was a product of the sixties and a draft.

 

I hope there is a draft... then everyone (not just a few and far between people) would be protesting, and the war would probably end sooner because no one would want to go
