i have a 7 episode dvd of petticoat junction.perhaps it's on t.v land.the stories about the ol;d hotel and the family that run it are represenative of how good t.v. was able to be 40-50 years ago.
A Team... yeah,, I see that alot now.. Adam 12,, rolling out to bust hippies.. and Dragnets,.. Joe Friday goes on about the dangers of marijuana while puffing on a cigarette..
i would agree with everyone else too.of the recent list dragnet was my favorite.i read somewhere in the later years of the series.jack webb wanted to give some positive pr to the lapd.i watched the show every chance i got especially in reruns.joe friday and bill gannon were a great team.the acting wasn't all that great but i think that's part of what made it more entertaining.
one episode of dragnet, Friday bust this kid in college for weed and is called a narc.. They vote to kick Friday out the class.. But Gannon later said to Friday how come you couldnt just look the other way for once.. Always doing things by the book.. I agree it was a public relations show, As was Emergency. television variety shows were popular in the 60's-70's.some good ones i remember were dean martin, flip wilson, perry como, andy williams, red skelton, dinah shore, smothers brothers, glen campbell.carol burnett.many more.i think my favorite was dean martin's show because it seemed unrehearsed and everyone seemed to be haveing a good time............game shows were as popular as ever also...i liked "the real mccoys" also.i think it was one of walter brennan's most memorable roles."the many loves of doby gillis"was a good one too..."fawlty towers" was one of the best ever."f troop" is another one.
