Ludovico Einaudi, Divenire. It is so beautiful and so moving. It just fills me with inspiration and hope. Sometimes when I listen to it I just want to cry because of the sheer beauty of it. Please listen to this piece. The only way to describe it is:Breath takingly beautiful. Peace and love to all.
well. most anything shostakovich is so geniusly beautiful that it'd have to go on the list. though im not a huge fan of his 7th symphony. so in terms of ol' shosti: 5th, 9th, and 10th symphonies are my favorite. and his string quartet music is.. heavenly. mahler. mahler is constitently fantastic, but i namely love mahler's 1st, 5th, and 6th symphonies. bartok is a favorite composer of mine. i LOVE his rhapsody for violin. beethoven depends on my mood. everyone says beethoven's 5th.. because well it's amazing. his 4th symphony is another favorite along with his 5th piano concerto. berlioz. symphonie fantastique. that's all i have to say. great overture writer as well. i dont give a fuck if he was a classical guitarist or not and if his chord constructions are simplistic. his music is fantastic to listen to. dvorak "dumky" piano trio. GREAT GREAT GREAT. the rachmaniov piano concertos are fantastic. respighi-pines of rome and fountains of rome. lovely baby. rimsky-korsakov. YES. program music, BUT WHO THE FUCK CARES> anything he wrote was fucking genius. STRAVINSKY IS MY FAVORITE COMPOSER. listen to his octet for winds. or his anything. what a genius. tchaikovsky. i read a biography on him. his music.. im not religious and i dont believe in all that strange christian bullshit, but his music is the voice of angels. what a troubled person. and verdi's requiem. the end. sorry to make your ears bleed.
Rachmaninov Piano Concertos Chopin Nocturnes Gallupi-performed by Michelangeli especially Bach Violin Sonatas
I listen to Hindi songs,I like R.D.Burman,lata mangeshkar's classical songs... kally :H http://theblogs.net/user/selfimprovement/
Very much so. I love the 5th Symphony. I have a recording of the New York Philharmonic playing it (which I bought in New York...), and it rocked my face. The fourth movement is especially good. And I like the slow lyricality of the third.
Green Sleeves... cant find a solid story, but i read it was writtin by King Henry IX or something, later composed by mozart maybe... either way i fucking love it.
except, not. both tchaikovsky (1870 overture-fantasy) and prokofiev (1935 ballet) composed romeo & juliet music! some favorites of mine: Debussy's La Mer Respighi's Pines of Rome and Fountains of Rome Chopin Preludes, Nocturnes Beethoven - anything Mahler, Symphonies ( I like 1 and 8 particularly) Stravinsky - Firebird Wagner - Tannheuser, Lohengrin
You have to guess that one in every ten viewers of this thread are non-classical fans. To you, one in ten, I'd recommend Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. You'll know what I'm talking about from second one.
But I think my favorite piece is somewhere between Ravel's Bolero, Debussy's L'apres Midi d'un Faune, or Enesco's Roumanian Rhapsody. All of which I've played.
I like schuberts ave maria, bachs air on a g string is particulary emotionaly captivating for me. Just the way those harmony parts move could bring me to tears. Like, if anything proves there is a god, to me that would be it. Andrew Loyd Weber's Pie Jesu is very beautiful to my ears. Jupiter (Holst) would be up there as well. I guess I lean towards baroque and modern sounds in classical music, although Ill make an acception for beethoven and mozart.
I have always been partial to Vivaldi's The Four Seasons. I just love it. Also Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata moves me every time, and Saint-Saens The Swan. Rachmaninoff's Variation on a Theme by Paganini....I cry. Cant help it. Just to name a few......
I'm a huge Ravel fan, particularly his piano pieces. Jeux d'eau and Le Tombeau de Couperin are fantastic pieces. I also love Mussorgsky's song cycle "Sunless." mmm, love that Russian bass sound.
my 2 most favorite classical pieces would have to be: Chopin's Nocturne #20 in C# minor Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata mvt.1
hmm good thread idea. I have always been partial to Mozart's 41st symphony, but I also enjoy all of Beethoven's string quartets. Last year I saw Brahm's Requiem performed at my university and I suddenly became a huge Brahms enthusiast. To Chapfalleneyes; Ravel is incredible, I've never heard anyone mention him in regard to classical music. Have you listened to his 'Pavane Pour Une Infante Défunte'- very French, very beautiful. adeiu!
