Soooooo many great songs that it is hard to pick out a favorite. But I'll list some that defines special moments in my life. Sitting on a beach in Ohis Rios with Deb looking at the Moon reflecting on the Bay, Waiting in Vain stated playing on the PA. On a catamaran ride to Dunns River Falls,I remember Exodus playing as we were crashing over the waves. When I walked through the doors of the Marley museum in Kingston,One Drop was the first song I heard. In 75 ,when I heard Junior Marvins solo on Concrete Jungle I was floored, but in 79 ,Al Anderson's solo sent chills up my spine. As for just songs out of the blue,I like Who Da Cap Fit, and Coming in From The Cold
It's hard to pick because they are all great, but still I think that redemption song has the best lyrics
i think that the legend cd has a good collection of his music but i have to say the ones i like the best are no woman,no cry;get up stand up;buffalo soldier; natural mystic;african herbsman; Redemption song &stir it up..I love all his music
I love Mr. Brown... reggae sounds better in general when it's less polished. But Lively Up Yourself and Easy Skanking are both favorites as well as War and Positive Vibration. Even Turn Your Lights Down low, despite the fact that it sounds really poppy, is still a beautiful song. Waiting In Vain is excellent too and reminds me of cuddling. Of course I'll always have love for the first 14 Marley songs I ever heard put together on Legend... I've listened to that CD so many times I can name the number of every track on it at any given moment.
just wanna say that I shot the Sherrif isn't a marley song, i think its originally a dylan song. anyways who can pick a favorite marley song..
I don't think Bob Marley did a cover of 'Hotel California'. There's a lot of misnamed songs on limewire and kazaa and all that. Everytime I search for 'marley' I get a thousand 'smoke two joints' by bob marley.
also, the legend album is bullshit. It's a collection of his popular songs. It doesn't get too deep with songs likd 'zimbabwe', 'war', or anything really meaninful like 'jah live' or 'rastaman chant'. It was a collection of songs that they knew would sell. Island and Rita Marley are such money grubbing sellouts yea, that's a great one I forgot. 'rastaman vibrations'. the prophet has spoken and has flown away home to be with his father.
