I can't stand the lryics. To me, it seems so......blah. It has no flow in my opinion. The rest of 'Wish you were here' is fantastic though,
and my Favorite two are 'Have a Cigar' and 'Dogs of War'

I love David Gilmour's vocals. (I feel like If I do not specify, I am going to get flamed...I meant in general, not in the previously stated 'Have a Cigar')

Time is another favorite of mine. I'm surprised that as often as I hear Pink Floyd songs, they never get old to me, no matter how often I hear them. Even 'Money' (in which I love the time signature) and 'Another Brick in the Wall Pt.2' haven't gotten old for me. That is ALL they play of them on the radio here...well, along with an occasional 'Comfortably Numb'.

I have never gotten into the 'Syd Barret' era of Pink Floyd, early Pink Floyd...
I was raised more on the Gilmour-led era, and love the feel of it...if that makes any sense?

Oh edit- My favorite favorite favorite evvvvver is 'Shine on you Crazy Diamond'
but it isn't for the actual song itself, it is for..well, erm. It would be very hard to explain this. I play the live 'pulse' version, when I drift off to sleep. The stage of consciousness right after being fully awake and right before sleeping, this song makes it absolutely crazy. I remember once, I was laying there awake and I saw the guitar and it was talking to me. I wasn't dreaming, but it was fucking cool.
So I like this song PURELY for sentimental reasons.

I would go with Syd Barrett era Floyd all the way.

2 good songs "Flaming" for Syd's era and "Careful With That Axe Eugene" Gilmour era

Totally, Gilmour is IMO the greatest guitarist to exist. He's not one of those flashy showboat guitarists, he has such emotion in his work. He's amazing. Barrett stuff was well, it had its merit, but it's definitely an acquired sound that's for sure...and a lot better if you're using psychedelics. hahaha.

Anyway, my fave pink floyd song..that is so hard..I will have to say for the solo Comfortably Numb, but for the whole feeling of the song Time for sure.

ps. speaking of Pink Floyd, anyone ever watched the Wizard of Oz on mute while listening to Darkside of the Moon, the synchronization is uncanny. Total trip, check it out. Turn the album on on the third lion's roar at the beginning of the movie, blast it, and smoke a joint.

    "Fat old sun"
Both from Atom Heart Mother, well they're not my favorite songs but they're cool.

I'd choose Shine on you Crazy Diamond- I'd like it to be played at my funeral.

Interstellar Overdrive without a doubt, there is so much going on with that song, I love how Syd makes all those crazy sounds come together and flow.

My favorite tune is probably either High Hopes, Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun or Have A Cigar

Hey man, back in my hardcore party days, I always loved two albums... Pipers at the Gates of Dawn and Saucerful of Secrets
As for the song, it's without a doubt "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" from Saucerful of Secrets... just light up or drop a tab or three and let old Pink do the rest.

    Peace

It is strange you posted here just to say that. lol

However, a lot of people I know don't like Pink Floyd or have never even heard of them.
