I love just about every song on THE WALL!! I just got "PINK FLOYD - THE WALL" (1982) on VHS! (ORIGINAL RELEASE (BEFORE THEY DIGITALLY COMPROMISED IT)) Its quite awesome!!!!!! (A couple songs in it that ARE NOT ON THE DOUBLE ALBUM!!)
I saw "The Wall" when it premiered at the Cooper Theatre in Denver in 70 mm w/4 channel dolby. I had been listening to the album for quite a while, I don't think the movie did it justice. It's difficult to pick a favorite Floyd tune but I would probably have to say Shine on crazy diamond.
This is really difficult to answer, but ultimately my favorite song would have to be ' Pigs (Three Different Ones)'. Here's my favorite by album: The Piper At The Gates of Dawn: None A Saucerful of Secrets: Corporal Clegg Soundtrack to the film More: Cymbaline Ummagumma: None Atom Heart Mother: Fat Old Sun followed closely by Summer '68 Meddle: Fearless tied with Echoes Obscured by Clouds: Wot's... Uh The Deal? tied with Stay The Dark side of the Moon: Time Wish You Were Here: Shine On You Crazy Diamond in it's entirety tied with Welcome to the Machine Animals: Pigs (Three Different Ones) The Wall: Comfortably Numb with Vera, Young Lust, and Mother pretty much all tied for 2nd The Final Cut: Tie between The Post War Dream, Your Possible Pasts, and The Fletcher Memorial Home A Momentary Lapse of Reason: None The Division Bell: High Hopes I love Pink Floyd so much
Well it was pretty g00d!! Now I understand why the kids who sang in ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL want to be paid! (I thought they just sung in the song and nothing else!!) They were also in that movie!!!!!! -- I do understand them now wanting to get paid for that..... (I think its too long ago but I do hope they get something) I loved the movie!!!!! (I didnt know if I ever would find an original copy of it)
As someone who has loved pink floyd for 10+ years and gone through many phases of favorite albums. And right now I'd say Meddle is my favorite. Echoes, specifically.
Evidently someone here has never listened to the band carefully...and i wonder where said people would place Syd in all of this
Hard to choose just one, so I would say Comfortably Numb and Us and Them. The entire Dark Side of the Moon album is my favorite.
Unsurprisingly, Comfortably Numb is the most decent tune on that indecent album.. as for DSOTM now we're talking serious Floyd business!!♡♥
Learning to Fly and Wish You Were Here are two of my favorites. I almost consider their early stuff with Syd to be a different band. I liked Pigs On The Wing though.
How does one choose a single favorite Pink Floyd song? Aside from the songs you mentioned I'd have to say Vegetable Man, Corporal Clegg, Interstellar Overdrive, Brain Damage, The Thin Ice, Free Four, Lucifer Sam, Summer '68, Astronomy Domine....and well crap I love all of their songs impossible to even narrow it down to 5 apparently.
Indecent album? I don't think so....Dark Side of the Moon is just their most popular album, doesn't make it their best.
I can't pick just one. But these stand out - Run Like Hell, See Emily Play, Eclipse, Blue Light (on David's "About Face" album), My band plays Run Like Hell & Eclipse and is eventually going to learn Blue Light. We're learning "Terrapin" by Syd now.
