Stole it from Neil Gaiman (who stole it from Element Girl), but I've always liked Urania. She's one of the Greek muses. Girls' names are generally better, it's hard to do imaginative boys' names without making them sound poofy, and that's not always the effect you're after. So yeah, recently I've used: Rio Urania Eurydice Calliope Colette Niandra (this is a word but I don't know what it means) Momos Dido Marissa
Jack- I love using the name Jack, mainly because of Kerouac. For girls I like Delilah, Jasmine, Mary, Alecia, Dudes, besides Jack- Sam, Alec, Jeremiah, Dean,
I was exploring an ultra deep trance... the kind that takes you 15 minutes to come out of to even be able to twitch a finger again... My focus ended up in the Sun, where I met a goddess made of liquid fire... Where ever I caressed her skin, she turned light blueish for a moment, and seemed to passionately enjoy my attentions... I called her "Sofare", short for "solar flare"...
I really like when people give characters 'matching' names... -Garden State ~ Hamsters were named "Peanut Butter" and "Jelly" -Mark ~ His dogs are named "Zig" and "Zag" (I can't think of any others right now; but there are a bunch...)
Names of people I know or have known: Amy Dawn Davin Box Misty Laine Summer Breeze Eryn Brett Bolan Dale Roe Names I've heard: River Jude Phoenix Joaquin (pronounced Waa-keen) Raphael Phoenix and the rest of those Phoenix kids Roman Alexander Susan Sarandon Charlie Benate (pronounced Ben-a-tay) Names I've made up or used just cause: Sarah Misty Dawn Sorsha Joan Davin Rhodes Danny Jamilee Meghan Claude I like Stan Lee's idea of naming characters. He can't remember names too well, so all of his characters had easy names, such as: Jean Grey, Peter Parker, Scott Summers, etc. I have a hard time naming my characters. I'll usually tack a label on them, such as chick, waiter, dork, etc., until their personality takes shape and their name reveals itself.
Dhani, Woody, Fred or Dylan for a boy Dylan or Scooby for a male dog Rebecca, Katie, Mandy or Kirsty for a girl Trixie or (im to drunk to think of a name) for a girl dog
I'd give to my future children names like: Boys: Haight Berkely Dylan Floyd Lennon Girls: Anna Pandora Janis But I have a problem , they sound pretty awful with my french familly name (Tétreault) So for french names: Boys: Matisse Girls: Charlotte Marika
~SgtPepper - Late's hope you're not intoxicated when naming your kids if you ever procreate *smile* (tesing yah) ~CanadianBoy - I love the names Dylan and Janis...
I don't really put much emphasis on names...It's more about the personality of the character. After all, a name is just a vessel.
^^^ Yeah, i agree - But i still like to have fun with the names; i view them as a little bit of decoration for their designated character...
I have to hate or love names there's no inbetween. A couple of my favorites are: Denith Gilford Gwyneth Genevieve (with the french pronunciation) I have a friend named Breezy and had one named Cloud a while back.
I love these: Natalia Zoe Bethany Autumn Ava Janis October Kennedy Sophie Owen Noah Jonah Iris Topaz Leo Sage Jade Willow Fern Cedar Julian Roman Deliah Regan Dylan Charlotte
I actually think names are important, 'cause the name of the character can introduce a bit of who she/he is. Names...for girls Vitória Maria Aurora Catarina Gabriela Mariana Isabel Glória Antónia Renata ... Names for boys... Rodrigo Pedro Manuel Carlos Gabriel Rafael Diogo Renato José ...
