OK so someone needs to take the info provided here, rework the list, and start a new poll / thread. Unbroken Chain and Dark Star need to be in the mix as well as a few others mentioned and about half from the original list. I'll be waiting!
NO DARKSTAR? lol well dark star and st. stephan are my favorites. actually the live/dead album is what i listen to the most. i always listen to it all the way though. the dark star is like 23min
great set list on this album, but Jerry is playing a Gibson SG and i hate the tone. i just can't get over it.
It can't be anything off of American Beauty, I'm sorry. It's like saying that 'Fight for your right (to party), is the best Beastie Boys song. Although, I'll admit that I might have chosen a song from American Beauty in my first year as a fan. And there's nothing wrong with that. I suppose the only thing that really matters is that we're all fans of really good music.
I think it's unanimous that Dark Star belongs on that list. How about favorite albums? I'd go with Live Dead on that one, but Steppin' Out's up there, as is Infrared Roses for it's trippy instrumentals. 'Course there's also a ton of bootleg stuff out there. American Beauty wouldn't make the list, but I confess I own it.
out tof those, i'd say sugar magnolia. but out of the entire catalogue i'd hafta say 'the eleven'... of course it has to be preceded by 'st. stephen'...
Nice call on The Eleven. I shoulda thought of that. For albums (and I know this sounds a little mainstream), I'll go with 'Without a Net'. I loved Branford on Eyes that much. Plus I owned the bootleg before the CD came out. It was always one of my favorites.
it's a tie between shakedown street and help on the way/slipknot! and it's great because when i saw phil lesh last month he played them both!! =)
Same here... Of the ones listed in the poll, I'd say Shakedown, Fire, FOTD, and Ripple (in no specific order). But there are so many others! Bird Song, Black Peter, Black Muddy River, Cassidy, Music Never Stopped...I could go on and on and on and on and on...
