Glen Cornick> For some of the finest lines in early Jethro Tull. Mark Andes> A bass player that had a part in many music eras, 60's Spirit.. 70's Jo Jo Gunne.. 70', 80' Firefall.. 90's Heart. Stanley Clarke > For taking the bass to another level when it was needed at the time. :sunglasse
Uh just one more if you don't mind? Glenn Hughes > Trapeez, Deep Purple.. This cat also sang lead at one time for Black Sabbath!
hell yeah! hahaha... i second wastingthedawn's post. but then again I'm in love with everything WHO. ~~~peace~~~
I cant believe nobody mentioned tom jenkinson (squarepusher) imo hes the second best bassist in the world, just behind wooten. Claypools sick too. For some reason, i also feel like mentioning the bassist from praxis. it was some old dude, not sure of a name, but hes fuckin crazy. In any case, squarepusher is great!....do you hear me!.......GREAT!!!!
Oh man, I love Porcupine tree, i'm listening to their signify CD right now! Other amazing bassists include: John Myung (dreamtheater), Martin Mendez (Opeth) and Billy Sheehan (Steve vai, etc)!
les claypool is easily one of the best bassists i've heard in some time, although i really like his stuff with oysterhead more than primus...god is trey anastasio a better singer than him. and of course i love roger waters, mostly because he's an awesome singer and songwriter...wait, he was a mediocre bassist. oh well.
White Stripes suck so much, it's fucking hilarious. D'Arcy Wretzky is among my favorites, but I'm sure you all expected that..
