i disagree . i think GNR isn't that much special, though they gave soime veruy good songs and i definately don't like them to such an extend that i could call myself a fan.... maybe its different in america though
Maybe XTC, or one of the bands from the 2 Tone label like The Specials or The Selecter or The Bodysnatchers (incredibly girl ska group, who were only around long enough for two or three singles). Devo and The Clash were great, too. After thinking about it I'm gonna say Richard Thompson, some of his greatest solo albums were released in the 80s.
guns and roses. kickass band with great performers. even though its fucked up now, i have hope for the future. i wish axl and slash and duff would stop being bitches and get back together.
Gotta love the big hair band ballads. Every Rose has it's Thorns, Don't Know What You Got 'Til It's Gone, Patience, Love Hurts, I Remember You, Love Song and of course Heaven.
The smiths favourite band from the 80's. My favourite artist was Prince. Both of these win by a mile. But then I am a big fan of the Cure, Dire straits and Bruce Springsteen (Wasn't huge on the slightly earlier 70's stuff, to gritty)
joy division the smiths the jam metallica iron maiden the cure THE CLASH Blondie, The Police, Elvis Costello and the Attractions dire straits Eurythmics, The Cure, Tears For Fears, Echo and the Bunnymen REM i have a feeling these are a lot of 70's crossover bands but i can't remember dates
Toto, Foreigner, Genesis, Ph.D, Police, AC/DC, The Clash, The Cure, Los Estóamgos, Los Traidores, Soda Stereo, Redonditos de Ricota, Roupa Nova.
