I have to take issue with this comment. I want peace for everyone... whatever race, colour, sex or religion they are. I think you are well aware that we are not anti-semetist... Well I've seen some of Matthews posts that aren't related to politics and he comes across as a nice person... politics aside. I have yet to see any other side to Treehouse. I guess if he wants to just come on here to debate politics that is up to him. However, the UK community has always been about more than just debate. People who participate in debates, tend to also participate fully in the cummunity, thus you get to know different sides to them and build some form of relationship however small. Each to their own I guess.
I think we already stated that nobody here disputes that the Jews deserved some sort of homeland at the end of WW2. Every thread I've seen him contribute to, he has been bashing out two or three identical arguments and issues over and over again, no matter how relevant to the topic. I wouldn't call that political debate, it's trolling and off-topic posting. He has no intellectual engagement with responses to his posts, he just trots out tired platitudes, avoids the issue or posts exactly the same thing in another thread. There's no debating with people who are so dogmatically fixed and closed minded in their (in this case particularly ill-informed) opinions. Makes you wonder what he actually gets out of it.
Why hang out somewhere where nobody likes you or agrees with your opinions unless it's to be disruptive? It's not even a debate, since he knows we're never going to agree with him, nor him with us. And like Mr Met said, he just rolls out the same old platitudes. Time after time his points have been shot down in flames. Rahter than responding, he just moves on to another point. Rinse and repeat until you arrive back where you started. No sign of willingness to engage in intelligent debate. It's trolling, pure and simple.
It's not a case of getting personal. It's a simple statement of fact. Based on his behaviour, he would appear to be unpopular with a large number of regulars. I think it's reasonable to ask what would then motivate him to continue hanging out here.

Yes, I dislike the way he behaves... I wouldn't say I dislike him as a person... it's happened before that people I have had strong disagreements with online have turned out to be really nice people. Unfortunately all TreeBot has shown us is his ignorant twat side, not the side that enjoys long walks in the park and helps old ladies across motorways.
