So he went through something he knew she intended to be private. What does that say about the father? Some might say face book is not private, and it is not for just this reason. It can be hacked or unlocked. Some guys can break into houses, some into computers. It's a skill, in this case he choose to break in like the guy chooses to break your window and come in. The fact that your window was unlocked does not make it morally right does it? He said she was stupid to comment on facebook when he is in IT, but that does not change the fact he should know better. Although many IT people do have a good laugh at the "private" business of your computer.

He is getting so upset because his teenage daughter bitched to her friends. She didn't say anything girls that age have not been saying for decades. Allot of it is just the age, but considering the fact that he made this little response video, I think we can assume he is probably a bit hardcore, she was not lieing to an extent.

Of course it is not hard for an IT person to get a password off a computer you give them. She should not have done that, but he should have acted like the mature one. I bet you the "software" he was talking about was something like a key logger. That way the asshole could get a nice email read out everyday of his daughters private thoughts and conversations.

But he really should pay attention to one thing she said. When they get old, I would not count on her to be there to take care of them, especially with this type of behavior.

Kids and parents rarely are on the same page. That said, I wasn't there so I can't give an opinion .... it's just too much "he said - she said".

BUT putting 9 bullets into a laptop means you are completely insane ... at the very least in that particular moment.

I dont applaud it. I think the man lacks maturity and has issues. He is not anybodys hero rather he is just a legend in his own mind....

 

I think they should have talked about the issues involved and the dad took the Laptop away and kept it apart from the daughter. What a waste of a Laptop and it shows the parent lacks responsiblity and is trying to lead by example that if there is a problem use a gun to blow it up.

He most likely paid for the Laptop and it was his choice to buy the $130 software needed. He could have took the Laptop away and left it at that, but no he had to go over the top.

Why does the parent expect her to do everything around the house? She is a young kid. Yes she could help out around the house (nothing wrong with that) but getting her to make drinks and all the other chores etc I think doesnt allow her to be a kid. She could do a few things but she shouldnt have to do it all.

The Family needs counselling and needs help as they obviously have issues.
Now the girl will have learnt that from what her dad wanted her to know in how to deal with a problem is use a bullet. When she is older and doesnt have enough money for something, she will remember her dad trying to lead by example and take a gun and rob someone. She is only learning from example.....

they went and checked the dude out and found that he provides a wonderful home and has very real and normal expectations for his kid...i was surprised the hollow point ammo didnt do more damage...i would like to have seen the back of the laptop after the fact ....

 

Not much in a laptop to slow down even a hollow point. Some plastic, fiberglass, a thin piece of glass for the screen, what metal there is would typically be aluminum, that's about it.

From all accounts, the kid is a spoiled, self-involved teenager. However, I agree with taking the laptop away from her, and restricting her use to WHEN I WAS IN THE ROOM & HER DOING HOMEWORK ONLY - at least for a while (like 3 months).

At 15 yrs old, her having to shovel some manure into a garden which I'm sure her spoiled ass ate from and filling coffee drinks are not unreasonable chores. I cannot help but wonder if there is more to all this - did miss spoiled want to date a man in his 20's or older...or go some place where she had no business. All we know is what her teenage mouth plastered on fb....again, when you post something on fb, it is not invading "your privacy" if a parent - or anybody - reads what you have posted! fgs

Daddy may have some issues, but basically I think he had just had his limit with his daughter's insolence, laziness, and being disrespectful. I just wish he hadn't thought it was such a good idea to shoot the damn computer and put it on u-tube. To me, his inability to control himself - or to ACT LIKE A RATIONAL ADULT - stopped lil miss from learning a thing. Plus, it is most likely his dumb ass will wind up having to get her another one.

It hasn't been long since the younger members of the home didn't have to pull their weight and be glued to their fb accts all day long.... Chores are chores... They're given so your kids don't become lazy fucks that think they can have everything handed to them... I'm sure she was eating food from the garden and I highly doubt she was the only one that had to gather manure... There is issues to both sides, I think it's funny, though a bit over the top, and probably shouldn't of done it with a real weapon, maybe a hammer? Since she can state fear for her very existence.. But if done on a weapons range, or something in a safe place and way to do it, it'd be fine. But the parents should have more trust in their children than that, if my parents want to find out what I'm doing, they ask, and for the MOST part.. I give them the answer, though it is 100% truthful there could be things missing, but they know. And it's from a lifetime of mutual trust and respect that we can have a relation like that. So who knows everyone is raised and taught differently, I figure the blame is on both parties, but maybe those people calling him a hero, should say it could of been done by taking the computer for a couple months, rather than shooting it haha.

 

Or the guy is really smart because he monetized the video hoping it'd go viral and make bucko bucks. the lappie could have been non functional.
