We tax cashiers that are not able to make correct change and then act like you are trying to steal money when you tell them they didn't give you back enough money.
Fat people do not necessarily buy "more food." Some heavy people have disorders in which they eat well & not over indulge but keep weight on. Stop being a prick... & no I am not "fat", but it is rather discrimination to charge bigger people than a stick tax on food. Are the skinny people jealous? LOL Sorry. It just seems really ridiculous & wrong to do that. haha...
reality versus fantasy... A)itll never happen B)i had a sirloin steak for my dinner and it was juicy and bloody C)no one gives a shit... D)some of you are going to die in your late thirties and early forties regardless of our eating habits and our overall health...not because of the meat and junk you didnt eat...but because of some genetic defect that will kick in at that time...reality...
I'm pretty fucking convinced that food costs more then it should anyway. Food shouldn't be taxed in any form.
Actually, FL has no tax on groceries -but still taxes every other purchases...which includes some " non grocery" junk food items- like candy bars , and soda. Is that like a fatty tax?
Fast food is taxed. If I work from 5 am to 5 pm, should I be taxed for two meals a day I have to eat on the go? No food item should be taxed.
I can eat subway, and I'm skinny. Still taxed when I have to eat on the go. Andt there are lots of people where I work making $10 an hour, who have to eat that two meals on the go. More out of their pockets.
You could bring food from home, you COULD stop buy a grocer and pick something quick up. - its just a luxury ,to get fastfood. I can't say I mind ,terribly, junk items like soda, and fast food being taxed(well a small percent, I could see minding if it was a huge tax). -- Its better than ALL food items being taxed, and I know a couple states do that
If you worked 96 hours a week and lived out of a hotel (I know several people who do this) it wouldn't seem like a luxury. They don't have the option of cooking, it's not a luxury. Some people depend on it, such as truckers. Not a luxury, food shouldn't be taxed.
GMO tomatoes don't have any more carcinogens than organic tomatoes as proven by extensive testing was my argument. Not that an organic pasta and salad wasn't better for you then the value menu from McDonald's.
I've never bought health insurance, but in the US aren't the obese (as well as smokers, the elderly, and other high-risk groups) charged more?
I think rich people or those who take one bite of something and throw it away, should be taxed more for their food.
Why does it matter so much to you how much other people weigh or how much they are charged? Stop paying so much attention to other people and instead focus on rebuilding your own crushed self esteems, because evident by many of these posts, that would be a good thing. If it bothers some of you SO much then try HELPING someone for once! The solution to any problem will not come from hatred and blame! Whether someone is "better or worse" than anyone else lies not in the appearance of their body, but in the choices they make (no, not all of these people eat heaps), and even then we are all only human. All of us are contributing to these problems, so for those of you who think you are somehow high and mighty, prove so by doing something, or get off your high horse!
