Well if you really want to know what the troops on the ground think and share their inside knowledge of the situation then there is an American military forum with a thread about Fallujah here: http://forums.military.com/1/OpenTopic?a=tpc&s=78919038&f=409192893&m=683104393
Inside knowledge? hahaha, there isn't one intelligent conversation on that whole fucking site. They wouldn't know the meaning of the word knowledge if it jumped up and bit them on the arse. You have to remember, soldiers are trained not to think for themselves.
This should be interesting. it seems that 3 of Allawi's relatives have now been kidnapped by rebels http://www.reuters.co.uk/newsPackageArticle.jhtml;jsessionid=4C35BLRKA0RDMCRBAE0CFEY?type=topNews&storyID=618478§ion=news
Indeed, simply being present does not mean you see the bigger picture and neither does it mean you are skilled in analysing information sources. Much of the information someone in the field will hear will come from hearsay or biased military sources. Certainly the stuff armyguy was spouting is redolent of indoctrination, of a certain attitude towards Iraqis - that they are all terrorists, bad guys, that there is no such thing as an innocent caught up in this. When quite clearly there have been tens of thousands of innocent civilians killed. Could a soldier go on doing his job if he truly understood what his involvement meant in terms of the actual human suffering it caused? There must be such wilful blindness and a level of indoctrination we can barely imagine involved in that process. I'm sure there is much that goes on which is not reported in the media but the suggestion that the military would withold information which supports its own actions is fatuous. The military press machine is the source for most of the information that is reported in the Western media; they will play down the massacring of innocents and talk up the insurgency as fanatical terrorists who are "against Iraq". So the stuff we don't get to hear about is overwhelmingly going to be the killing of innocents by US forces, it's not going to be aspects of the true nature of the resistance from which we are being shielded as armyguy's posts attempted to imply. The massive scale of the resistance, right across the country, demonstrates that a vast majority of those fighting are ordinary Iraqis opposing American military occupation, defending their homes and families. Let's not forget that America is the aggressor in this war.
The news so far is that the rebels are on the run, they are disorganised and shambolic. It wont be long now before the coalition forces take control of the whole of Fallujah, they are encircling to mop up the terrorists still left in the city and arrest them. The terrorist insurgents are losing and losing fast.
Wasn't that what they said about Baghdad? And how many deaths have their been their since the 'victory'? Hmmmm.
anotherarmyguy is supposedly not in iraq and dont know what he's talking about?? am i understanding this correctly? wow! anotherarmyguy IS in iraq and a DAMN good soldier. you people sitting safe at home talking shit need to check yourself!... just so ya'll know there are MANY locations that have power and net connection on a regular basis. you think the goverment is gonna psyc them up for the killing? thet is so ignorant if you think the information you are getting from the media is at all accurate! they are instilling fear, anger, and straight up lies to on a mission for ratings and politics dont be weak minded ..get educated! agree with the politics or not our soldiers are hero's who risk thier lives everyday.... do u?
I would like to remind you I voted for Nader and not Bush. I dislike the way he is running the country and plan to move to the GB after I finish with school. Peace and Sunshine Amy
Anyone remember Sesame Street? One of these kids is not like the others, One of these kids just doesn't belong, Can you tell which kid is not like the others By the time I finish my song? Most of these kids belong together Most of thes kids are kinda the same Can you guess which kid does not belong here? Now it's time to play our game (time to play our game). Answers on a postcard......
No the defeat of global terrorism does! I will support the forces of democracy over the forces of tyranny and terrorism anytime. I want to see these terrorist insurgents who behead westerners and kill their fellow Iraqis for co-operating with the west destroyed once and for all! Just like I supportted the war on Iraqs' evil regime led by Saddam Hussein because I wanted to see that evil regime destroyed once and for all! I mourn every civilian death just as much as you. But I lay the blame for those deaths with the terrorists not with our troops who are fighting to bring democracy to Iraq.
Thanks for the advice, however I am educated and understand fully the nature of the media. I fear it is you that is weak willed for buying the lies that your government tells you. I have have nothing against the soldiers. I hope they all come home safetly. Millions of Iraqi's risk their lives everyday just by venturing out of their homes. It's a terrible situation for all in Iraq.
Oh go away you dimwit and take your ranting drivle to someone who cares. A couple of people posting as supposed soldiers give you a hard-on?
This has nothing to do with global terrorism. The only foreign terrorists in Iraq are the ones we invited there by illegally invading - they were not there before. Even so, a majority of the resistance consists of ordinary Iraqis who oppose the hostile invasion and occupation of their homeland. If you think the destruction of Fallujah will put an end to the resistance you are hopelessly naive. Just like has happened in response to the brutal tactics of the illegal occupation force in Palestinian territory, the more brutally the Americans crush the resistance the more determined the resistance will become. Aggression causes more aggression. The use of overwhelming force against a major population centre will make the level of violence resisting American occupation in Iraq worse. I bet you cheer when Israeli helicopter gunships blow up blocks of flats full of Palestinians too, don't you?
That is a perfect example of fucks like you jumping down the throats of people that have an opinion different from your own. You, my friend, are an asshole!
