My brother is in Falluja right now fighting for what he thinks is a justified war. I go both ways when it comes to this battle.

I hope the insurgents win this one. As much as I hate violence and bloodshed, America needs a bloody nose or else its imperialist march will go on unhalted. Victory to the Iraqi people!

That is an ugly-asshole thing to say. People like you who support the cause of terrorists should be hung in the public square!

    Not as yet....

Interestingly on that subject, is it just me or is the blackout on this attack the biggest we've had so far?

I thought that... All it said on the radio this eve was that Blackwatch were in the centre of Falluga yet they were receiving resistance.

    Not clear at all.

I blame all the continuing violence on the Islamic terrorists linked to Al Qaeda. The people the misguided anti-war movement call "The Rresistance". Well these so called resistance fighters have attacked their own Iraqi people with suicide bomb attacks on Iraqi police stations, the newly reformed Iraqi national army, as well as attacks on United Nations staff and even International Red Cross staff. They have also kidnapped and beheaded numerous civilian workers of foreign countries who are in Iraq to help the Iraqi people rebuild their country.

These so called resistance fighters ie people who use suicide bomb attacks and mortar bomb attack against anyone they consider pro-western even there own people are the scum of the earth. Their tactics are as low and barbaric as that of the militias who caused genocide in Rwanda. They are definitly not friends of the Iraqi people! I hope the coalition troops do manage to smash these evil terrorists!

Yes but your analysis on most things you post Herr Baumhaus, leaves a lot to be desired with very little substance and fuck all reality.

The US forces aren't fighting a few cowardly 'terrorists' but a nation of pissed off people. (If they do manage to kill a few scum like al-Zarqawi, nobody here will shed any tears).

You been talking to your mate Hitchin again?

There's no way the insurgency will hold Fallujah; America is using overwhelming force to destroy / conquer the city. The problem is that the more force they use and the more death and destruction they cause to try to take control of Iraq, the more desperate and determined the resistance will become. The Americans will probably declare a victory in the attack on Fallujah but the resistance will go on and is going on elsewhere. That's what happens when massive military force is used to invade and occupy land where the people don't want to be invaded and occupied - in that sense this situation is starting to look a lot like the ongoing illegal occupation of Palestinian territory by Israel. The more brutally they put down the resistance to their hostile occupation, the more resistance there is.

The upping of the level of brutality with which the US is attempting to impose its will upon the people of Iraq is already backfiring - a group of Sunni clerics has threatened a boycott of the upcoming elections and the Islamic Party in Iraq has withdrawn from the US-backed interim government, showing that the supposedly free election in January will have no legitimacy among large sections of the population of Iraq.

No they are not, they are aiming to retake the city from the insurgents who have seized power in Fallujah and who are an obsticle to the January elections and to the rebuilding of Iraq. It really is a few thousands terrorist insurgents they are trying to remove not the general population of Fallujah.

By the way if these terrorists have a legitimate grievence then the elections of January 2005 are the time to express them. They could easily spend the money currently being spent on arms and explosives in forming their own political party and taking part in the mainstream political proccess. This is something the Kurds in the north intend to do, as although the Kurds are strong on forming a seperate Kurdish state they are still working with the coalition forces and are planning to use the new Iraqi parliament as their vehicle for their political aims.

Are you actually saying anybody who has taken up arms against the US forces is a terrorist?

Basically yes, because the new Iraqi parliament where elected Iraqi MPs will sit in January is the place for people with grievences to express them.

You also forget that the coalition forces are there to help Iraq along the road to democracy. Billions of dollars have been earmarked by America for Iraqi reconstruction. But the longer the insurgents hold out the less of this money can be spent on reconstruction and the more of it will have to be spent on the military occupation. If the insurgents want to help their country they should stop now and declare a ceasefire and look to the January elections as the place to make their point!;)
