i tried to get to the end of the map but these scorpions got me, whats at the edges? im guessing mountains...
Rudenoodle ... i'm no great modder by any means but i've been tinkering with the GECK the last week ... just very minor changes to weapon damage, range, ect, ... just making a few of the weapons and armour more how i'd like them basically - like giving the blackhawk the range of a sniper rifle, increasing clip size and stuff ... and so i've been opening some of the esp. files i've downloaded and looking at them and making some simple changes. I was fed up with some of the traders and NPCs (like bryan wilkes for instance) getting killed by critters and mutants (because i installed an increased spawns mod) so i've been making a few characters unkillable just using the in-game console commands. Also been installing some great texture mods but i'm finding the more mods i install the more my game is likely to crash. Anyway i gather you're interested in creating new cells/locations eh? ...which i know nothing about but it seems that since fallout 3 uses the same engine as oblivion, that many people who were creating mods for oblivion are now creating mods for fallout 3 and i understand that the GECK is very similar to the modding tools that were released for oblivion ... so there's already a wealth of information and tutorials on modding oblivion that can simply be transposed to modding fallout. There are many modding forums for both games that you should seek out and of course i guess one place to start would be the GECK homepage: http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php/Main_Page - And this place seems pretty good ... there's some tutorials in the forums there too: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/categories.php There seem to be a few problems with the GECK also ... namely that the navmesh (grid which tells NPCs where they can walk and where they can't) function is not working correctly. I'd like to learn to use the GECK myself so i'm kinda looking into things too.
I got a copy for christmas, and it's okay. Theirs just TOO much to do. Pick up this, pick up that. It's hard to keep straight on one thing when you have a million other things to do. I do enjoy bashing some raiders heads in, or pickpocketing people.
I play it on the PS3 as well and I just love it. Made by the same people who created the Morrowind Series and it shows. I would suggest this game to anyone who like FPS and RPGs.
For those who have satellite: Turn off 3 Dog and his 4 songs and put on Siriusly Sinatra for more diverse musics. "The tunes are the reapeaty-ist"
fallout 3 is such an awesome game. me and my hubby have been playing it now for about a week. hes got one game going being good, i got another being a bit of a dick through it, which is actually really hard. my natural instinct is to be good, either well its so addicting!
My 360 took a shit so I had to sell all of my games, which just so happened Fallout 3 was one of 'em. I bought a PS3 with Little Big Planet. Next game I purchase is the PS3 version of Fallout 3!!!
i am so addicted to fallout. i stopped playing the main quest and am trying to make sure i complete every side quest first. i dont want it to end!! although resident evil 5 should be dropping through the door today or tomorrow, then i'm going to have a serious conflict of interest!
I've been playing FO3 for the past couple of weeks, finished it once. I gotta say it is way too much like Oblivion. It's a good game, definitely, but it doesn't hold a candle to FO2, and it gets a bit samesy-samesy. The VATS system is really good, but apart from that, there is nothing innovative about this game. I strongly disapprove of unkillable anything, and you can't even engage kids in combat. All in all it's worthwhile, but best game of all time, it is certainly not. That award goes to Fallout 2.
