Its out on pc already.. .. i don't think its a leaked version i downloaded... and its running fine on my computer... and as far as i can see you don't need a high-end computer to play it..
It dropped for P.C one day before it dropped for X-Box The system requirements for the P.C version are staggering for your average computer, someone with a decent graphics card will be able to play it without any problem. Someone with a high end gaming graphics card will just be amazed, A high end P.C will always run games around 30% + faster than any console. Fallout 3 + high def monitor and a monster video card = Video nirvana. If your P.C is getting older I wouldn't bother getting fallout3 for it just stick to the console versions there almost identical. But if your lucky enough to have a high end gaming rig defiantly choose the P.C version. Plus no matter what you choose you can still use your xbox controller for either version.
Since graphics aren't my primary concern, and a new console is not an option, I might just try downloading it. All I really want is to cap a few raiders with my old friend Desert Eagle .44.
Mmm? No Desert Eagle! I bought the PC version several days ago and first chance i got i played a 24 hour stint ... it IS a fantastic game, i'm playing on nearly minimum settings though at 1024x768. My PC is a 2.13 Core2 Duo, 1GB ram and Nvidia 7300 LE (256 mb) and the stated reqirements for the game are 2.4 GHz processor, 1GB ram and Nvidia 6800 or ATI x850 ... so i only just meet the requirements. - However it runs fine and looks pretty good even on minimum game graphics settings, but i raised the 'building' draw distance a bit and the 'actor' draw distance to full, but everything on minimum apart from that. No shadows, water reflections ect. Missions are good ... some quite lengthy ones, a vast array of armour and weapons ... standard ones like hunting rifles, magnums and sub machine guns but there are also uniques too ... my faves being a scoped magnum, Lincoln Rifle and 'Terrible shotgun' and these can be repaired using standard magnum, hunting rifle, and combat shotgun respectively. The assault rifles are good too. You can also build several weapons from schematics when you have found all the bits of junk needed. - Fallout is all about weapons yes?! I was a bit sceptical but it's vastly exeeded my expectations!
Ahhhh such a good game, and the world is outrageously huge. My only "hmph" is that you can't continue playing after you beat the main quest, which is pretty short really. Doesn't mean you can't put it off, though.
I want to play this game so badly. They had ads for the game up all over the subway where I live...but I haven't gotten a chance to pick up a copy. But from what I hear it's pretty good.
i really want to get this game for ps3. but i want to wait until i have a 1080p tv or something close
Holy crap... I just saw the trailer and all i have to say is that when i get my new computer at christmas, ill buy it at once...
the graphics of FO3 for PS3 werent what i had hoped... but the huge maps and weapon selection made up for this.
Yeah I know what you mean there was a touch of unpolished about the graphics on the PS3. Some developers seem to treat the system as an after though, presumably because they can't be bothered to code for the slightly weird architecture (orange box for example) but I say fuck them, we will see which system is still looking sharp in 3 years time and I don't think its going to be anything running PPC cores.
I need to choose between this and Dead Space. Bethesda makes ludicrously awesome RPG's, but I don't own any horror games other than Bioshock and I've really been wanting to change that. I was also worried after I heard Fallout's main quest was pretty short, then I remembered that my Oblivion game has over 250 hours logged and I'm only a fraction of the way done with the main quest.
If you do not dive right into the main uest and just do what you want it will take alot longer. I have played it for about two weeks doing all the side quests and have barely scratched the main quest. Also once you finish it you can replay it with a different mindset - as say kill everyone that is not a help to me- and it will open up diferent quest due to your new "karma". I was a fan of the first two and I am happy with this and glad to see all of the same termenology and gadgets as in the old games. Now off to collect more caps!
