what else is it for? to communicate with people whose phone numbers and email addresses you already have, or with friends you see every week? please! it's an international portal where people show off the private details of their life and announce who they're dating to the rest of the world they don't even know. just to get some piece of attention, and feel like what happens in their life and what they think about something matters. facebook has successfully tapped into that need for attention and is exploiting it to the full. for that, they are ingenius. what it says about the people who use it though....

 

all the attention seekers, show offs and those who think it's a competition to 'prove' how popular they are with vast numbers of so called friends that theyre never going to meet or know in their sad real lives.
as meridianwest said with real friends and family who we love and trust, we meet up, visit, phone or e-mail.
