Just like every other scientific theory. And i was taught that it is only a theory, and it's the best one that we have using empirical evidence to explain the world around us, you find another one with as much or more supporting evidence (and scripture doesnt count), then let me know.
Yes, but the sad thing about this theory is when there is other evidence which would debunk it, that evidence is never allowed to see the light of day. And some teachers who have attemped to show that evidence have found themselves on the outside looking in. This theory has been embraced in such a way that dare anyone in the field step forward with real questions, they are look on as nonbelievers who lack wisdom. Evolution has become a sacared God to many in the field of science.
And you don’t see evolutionists going around blowing themselves up in a crowd of other people with different beliefs. Or provoking wars over crumbled temple ruins, or influencing the genocide of millions…
Yes that is true, and you don't find Christians doing it either. Do you? And the reason Muslims blow themselves up, is so they can get to heaven quicker. And the only reason an Evolutionists might blow himself up, would be to claim he is another missing link.
If I had a dollar for every innocent life that’s been slaughtered in the name of Jesus Christ I’d be a multimillionaire.
Anyone can claim or do anything in the name of Jesus Christ or anyone else. Yet God will tell you, no murder will enter the Kingdom of God. And I don't care how religious they look, God can tell the difference between the religious and a true Christian.
You and your "disproofs." If you want to argue with the stuff posted above, feel free. Evolution is about finding truth, not about feelings or beliefs. The huge mass of evidence points to evolution, not adam and eve. So people like you, people who want so much to believe that the bible was not just created by god, but also was meant to be taken literally to the letter, have taken great pains to come up with alternative evidence, and they're almost always phony. BUT...before you run your list of great dangers to the theory of evolution, please do some fact checking.
Sorry friend, but I checked my facts long ago, and believe me, feelings are to be found more on the side of believers of Evolution than believers of the Bible. If you just consider the story of the Children of Israel crossing the Red Sea. This was a story that has been said to be pure fantasy by non believers. Yet just in recent years divers have discovered the coral incrusted remains of Pharoahs army, and the spot is marked by two granit pillars. Consider the site below. http://bibleprobe.com/exodus.htm
The Creationists' argument against evolution is flawed. It ignores, or simply fails to recognize, the fact that it is not form (the human body) but consciousness that distinguishes humanity from the apes. I hope this is not an intentionally insulting omission. It would appear that consciousness, fully present or not, is just too uncomfortable a topic to consider and discuss. Who knows? The story of Adam describes (metaphorically and actually) the first human to realize his uniquely human consciousness. Peace and Love
Well I believe it is a little more than just consciousness. According to Dutch researchers at Hubrecht Laboratory in Utrecht, in the Netherlands, They have discovered big differences in the RNA which controls a cell's inner workings, and this could be what really separates man from ape. Team member Edwin Cuppen said researchers observed that while many micro-RNAs were found in chimps and humans, some were found only in humans. CUPPEN SAID SMALL GENETIC CHANGES THAT FINE-TUNE A GENE MIGHT ACCOUNT FOR THE RADICAL DIFFERENCES IN HUMAN AND APE BRAINS.
What you're saying seems pretty logical. There are genetic differences between apes and men. We're pretty darn close, though. Even if those somewhat circular formations in the red sea are from an army getting drowned by god as they ride across the dry seafloor, that doesn't have anything to do with evolution. You're "disproofs" are all assumptions and bunk. And bad science.
If you read the Article you would of noticed it stated RADICAL DIFFERENCES. Not close at all. And yes those circular formations have everything to do with Evolution, because if the story is true then the story is literal. And as Christians have been saying for years, the whole Bible is true. Which means the Creation story is literal as well. And the divers who have gone down have found much more than circular formations. They have found the coral incrusted bones of Pharoahs entire army. Spread across the bottom are the remains of endless chariot axels, wheels, human femur, and horse bones. And all around the area chiseled in stone is extra Biblical accounts of what happened there. Also the site was marked by two 18 foot granit pillars, positioned on either side. One Inscriptions reads. "The wind blowing, the sea dividing into parts, they pass over" "The Hebrews flee through the sea; the sea is turned into dry land." ect. Consider the link below. http://bibleprobe.com/exodus.htm
So post the article, that I may read it. Reality doesn't work that way. Even if you were to prove that the exodus happened EXACTLY as written in the bible (which not even your cheesy websites can do), that lends nothing to the creation myth. That's like me saying that if I prove gravity true (and I can, lemme tell ya), then evolution must also be true. Have you seen it? Were you there? Or are you assuming based on a website that says what you want to hear and has grainy pictures that look sort of like what you want to see? You make it sound like that's all there is on the seafloor there. And to assume that the only way the odd bone could get to the bottom of the red sea is if pharoahs army was traversing the dry bottom and suddenly got drowned all by an act of god is to assume a lot. By the way, living things don't have to be dead very long before they float. Do you think they would have stayed right there? I saw your website, and it's sketchy at best. Pictures are grainy, assumptions are flying all over the place, and the whole "find" was made in the hopes of proving that exodus happened. The conclusion was made before the evidence, if you will. Also, if you do a google image search for "red sea chariot," not only are those the only underwater pictures you see, but you get a set of handwheels from modern boats that look an awful lot like the four-spoke "chariot wheel" on your site there. Who wrote those inscriptions? Did the jews hang around to do it after narrowly escaping the pharoah? Did the pharoah bring along a stoneworker (with the proper tools, mind you) to act as historian who stayed on the shore just in case the army all drowned in the sea? I'm willing to bet that someone came by after the story was written and popular and all that, and wrote it there. But anyways, this is all off topic. If you want to argue evolution, argue evolution. So here's an off topic smiley: fftopic:
FreakerSoup here is the artical you asked for. Tiny RNA, big difference between man, apes http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/view.php?StoryID=20061106-2115r I would of thought if you were really interested in the truth, you would of not just stopped at my posted site, but would of looked for others. Here is another one. It is a radio talk show with Dr. Lennart Moller calling in. He and his team have done extensive research in the area, and I believe a movie will be coming out in the spring of 2007 to show the world their findings which are quite extensive. http://www.worldtalkradio.com/archive.asp?aid=4934 The 18 foot Granit Pillars are believed to of been erected by Solomon's workmen which would of happen about 300 years after the event. I say that, because Solomon's name appears on one of them. Yet it is between these pillars where they are finding the artifacts. And I might remind you, that hand wheels off a modern ship, are not usually covered with solid gold. Also, some of the wheels have been brought to the surface and dated by egyptian experts, to the time period of the Exodus.
FreakerSoup just on more try on Tiny RNA, big difference between man, apes. If link does not work you might want to try a goggel on title. http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/view.php?StoryID=20061106-100709-2115r
I don't think that's saying what you think it's saying. All it says is that chimpanzees probably evolved more recently that humans. It's certainly not as big a difference as you are making it out to be. It's nothing fundamentally different about the cell. It's not like they have alphabet soup instead of DNA or anything. But I'm not really contesting that there are differences between people and chimpanzees. If you look at the comparison objectively, though, the similarities are striking. Like a GIS, maybe? Even if it was gold, do you think chariot wheels were more often gold than anything else? If the wheels were brought up, why are there only pictures of wheel-like shapes on the bottom? Also, that page says that there are no corals in that part of the red sea, but the Gulf of Aqaba is full of corals: http://www.photolib.noaa.gov/reef/reind13.htm But again, off topic. fftopic:
Trying to stay on topic, but will leave you with this site. The National Academy of Sciences Booklet claims regarding so-called human evolution are supported by no scientific evidence whatsoever. http://www.nationalacademyofsciencesrefuted.com/human_evolution_error.php And the reason they have found golden wheels on the bottom is because acording to Ex. 14:7 the Pharoah choose 600 of his CHOICE CHARIOTS along with all the other chariots of Egypt. So naturally you would find parts from some of the best chariots that would be covered in gold.
It seems I am misunderstood. The real question is: What IS your humanity? or, Upon what do you claim your truest identity? Are you nothing more than your body? Of course, you are far more than just than a complex colony of cells. The relationship between those cells is just as vital, just as identical with your life, as the cells themselves. Without that complex network of intercellular relationships, your body would not function as a body. There would be no life, and there would be no place for you to exist. In one limited but very real sense, you are the unity of your cells. So it is with all life. If you can "see" the unity of all that exists, and apply that to your understanding of this debate about creation/evolution, then maybe you can realize that this complex network of relationships between all individual lives, IS life, and IS one place for God to exist. In this light, it is, ultimately, erroneous to depreciate or deny any relationship between any entities. The Creationists' denial of all of the biological relationships between humans and chimpanzees (and goldfish, oak trees, poodles, etc.) as just as untrue as a denial of the same relationships between your nerve, muscle and bone cells. Now, consider that fact that Evolutionary theory has never denied the existence of consciousness (and all experience available through consciousness). Then tell me why you deprecate Evolution? How could that possibly serve anyone's faith? Of course, the question continues to be: Are you nothing more than your body? or, Are you the consciousness, soul, spirit that animates your body? Peace and Love
Good questions. The theory of evolution does not negate the existence of god anymore than the theory(now proven fact) that the earth is a sphere and not the center of the cosmos. Science and faith are not polar opposites until you make them so.
