    Right on!!!.
I see people wearing these t-shirts all the time.Like someone has said: some of the wearers don't even know who he is.He's been propelled into some kind of 'Pop Star'.
When I was in New York ,two years ago:- I saw people wearing his t-shirt there.
That's stardom for you:they kill you ,then mass produce your image on a t-shirt.[IMG]

lol, exactly. The shirt only spreads the message that the wearer is saying "I am a dumbass." Che would slit your stupid capitalist necks in a second, like a ninja.. lmao jk, but if my idol was a communist murdered by the US government, I can honestly say I wouldn't go down to Hot Topic and buy a shirt of him.

i have a lot of che shirts. i got most of them from my dad, who spent a lot of his life in south america. he told me che's story many, many times. he was one of his heroes. he died last year, so i wear my shirts as a way to remember him and show that i love him even though only a few of my friends knew my dad that well so i'm the only one who thinks it's special. it really pisses me off to see kids in che shirts who have no idea who he is, or who i know couldn't possibly believe in what he stood for. but if i make them seem like an idiot, and they go out and get themselves educated, i guess that's a good thing. just like stupid kids who wear pink floyd or beatles shirts, and have never heard any of their songs.

plus, it's just clothes, and i don't care if i make a statement or not or if the statement i make is that i'm a retarded american. it's keeping me from being naked. so whatever.

Okay, I'll admit it, many years ago I paid a capitalist corporation for a Che tapestry with the words "hasta la victoria siempre" on it and his birth/death/murder years. It moves with me and hangs on my bedroom wall wherever I go... I might wear a Che shirt, but don't own any and see it mostly as a fad... Plus they all have the same "logo" of his face.
I don't know if I'd go as far as saying I respect who Che was, but I admire who he was, and will continue to do so.
I didn't do it because it was popular, I did it after learning about him and writing a research paper on him in high school. (Of course, the other research paper I did that year was on Hitler, but I wouldn't own anything related to him. I guess it was a good (Che) vs. bad (Hitler) thing.) I was exploring different ideas at that time.

    Your Tapestry sounds impressive!.
There has been a spate of 'Che Guevara' books out recently.'Life' Magazine did a big feature on him around 1960;he was a presented as romantic revolutionary figure to American housewives & not the cold-war red communist of 1967 ,that the C.I.A. feared so much that they had to assassinate him.

Just an observation, but I think this thread breaks the record for the least amount of posts/most amount of banned members. I think I counted three.

I have seen other kids wear them but they have no idea as to who he was, so why wear it if no one knows who he is... unless you, yourself really like him, then it's groovy. But not for me...

I don't care if fake people wear Che shirts. There are kids in Africa wearing mickey mouse shirts that read "1981". You decide what's important to you.

Zeppelina was not saying Che supporters made her sick. She was saying the kids who wear the shirt without knowing one thing about Che makes her sick.
I compare this to kids who have not heard ONE Bob marley song but wear shirts with him on it just because they smoke pot and he smoked pot so they assume that's cool. If you are aware of Marley's music and like it, fine. If you are Rasta, fine. If you believe that his music brought people together, fine. If you respect him as a person, fine. But just because you smoke pot to get trashed and you think it's *so* awesome to have a pic of him smoking pot, then you are a loser. I think the same thing applies with this situation
